Preface
The Sudan Academy of Sciences (SAS) was established in 2004 as a fully fledged
institution mandated to conduct applied Research for Development. The breadth of its
research areas includes environment and natural resources, engineering, medicine,
agriculture, animal resources, energy, industry, economic, diplomatic studies,
information technology and documentation.
As a research leader, SAS is embarking on promoting affordable and accessible
technologies aiming at mainstreaming research in development. Since the establishment,
it has made an impact on both the local and global levels, and has sent out many
graduates who are active in variety of academic disciplines and occupations both in
Sudan and worldwide.
The present Directory was recommended by the library committee and approved by the
SAS, mainly to avail SAS achievements to scientific arena. It consists of lists of 301
PhDs, and 628 M.Sc. theses covering the period 2007-2016. The lists include the, names
of the candidates, the discipline or the council in which they awards, titles of the theses,
and the year of graduation
I do hope this directory will be a contribution to scientific knowledge and sustain our
partnership with other institutions.
