PORT WATCH CHANGE OVER CHECK LIST

1. Have Chief Officers And Masters Standing Orders Been Read And Clearly
Understood?
2. Have Any Special Instructions Or Orders Particularly Appertaining To Actual Cargo
And Actual Port Operations Been Read And Clearly Understood?
3. Have Moorings Been Properly Tended And Ships Position Maintained Alongside
And In Position?
4. Has Ship/Shore Access Been Properly Tended?
5. Are Deck and Hold Lightings Sufficient?
6. Are Only Authorized Personnel Allowed Aboard?
7. Have Frequent Draft Checks Been Made To Ensure That Cargo Operations Are
Following The Planned Loading/ Discharging Programme?
8. Have All Pertinent Information Such As Cargo Handling Times, Damage To Cargo,
Stowage Information And Prevailing Weather Conditions Are Recorded In The Port
Note Book/Log Book?
9. Are All Required Safety Procedures Closely Followed?
10. Are Cargo Plan, Loading/Discharging Sequences And Any Other Cargo
Requirement Checked And Clearly Understood?
11. Have All Authorized Shore Personnel Been Introduced To Handing Over Duty
Officer?
12. Are Terminal Emergency Procedures Understood?
13. Has Ballast Operation Been Monitored With Frequent Checks Of Tanks Sounding?
14. Has Any Fresh Water Supply Operation Been Monitored With Frequent Checks of
Tank Sounding And Reading Of Any Shore Gauge?
