Super Moon!

Our crackshot photographer, Hugh Jainus, captured this photo of the Super
Moon, revealing a new discovery that even the NASA Hubble telescope couldnt
detect. With his Polo-Hemo-Roid rapid-fie camera (available now at a store
near you, only $149.95!) Hugh Jainus snapped the picture above Washington,
D.C., where thousands of Trump protesters were gathering. It looks like they
were in for a lot of green cheese instead of the free cheese theyre normally
used to receiving. This is hands-down the greatest photo weve seen of the
November 15th, 2016 Super Moon, due to a slightly higher-than-normal level
of corn starch in the atmosphere.

Block
of Bucks expands
Soroptimists of Glasgow have expanded the age for

children participating in the Block of Bucks shopping

event.
Due to the tremendous support from the Valley
County community, the age limit for children has been
expanded from 12 years old to 17 years old. This means
that children between the age of 0 to 17 may register for
the event through the Office of Public Assistance, located
at 630 Second Ave S., Glasgow. Sign up ends on Monday,
November 28th, at 5 pm.
Parents must pick up registration forms from that
office and return them to the office in person in order to
be eligible to participate.
Donations are needed to fund the clothes shopping
event and are deeply appreciated. They may be mailed
prior to collection day to: Soroptimists of Glasgow, Box
961, Glasgow, MT 59230.
Volunteers are still needed to help families shop on
Saturday, December 3rd. Please call Elissa Erickson at 2301629 if you are willing to help, or if you have any questions.

Why do we call them coaches?

He or she takes the name from a little town called
Kocs or Kotcz, in western Hungary, where in the
1400s they devised a special cart, a kotczi-wagon,
for transporting passengers on the rough local roads.
Kotczi became coach in English.
In about 1845, at Oxford University, it was
adapted to mean someone who gives special tutoring
who carries the athlete along, as if driving them in
a coach.

After I-177 defeat, FWP still

looks to work with both sides
While Montana voters
spoke definitively at the
polls last week in defeating
the ballot initiative 177,
Montana Fish, Wildlife and
Parks will continue to work
with people on both sides
of the issue.
Trapping
is
an
important tool for wildlife
management in Montana
and will continue to be,
said
Ken
McDonald,
FWP wildlife division
administrator. We also
know people will continue
to have concerns and well
keep ensuring our furbearer
management and trapping
seasons are well designed
and clearly communicated
and monitored.
Even prior to I-177
making it to the 2016
ballot, the Fish and Wildlife
Commission directed FWP
staff to work with a broad
spectrum of the public
on improving existing
trapping regulations and
minimizing
conflict.
That work will continue,
McDonald said.

According to FWP,
Montanas
furbearer
populations are healthy
and robust, which is in
part due to sound scientific
management focused on
conservation of populations
and
sustainable
use.
Trapping is a legitimate and
ethical tool for managing
and monitoring these
populations.
We know Montanans
expect us to continue to
ensure that our trapping
regulations are based on
sound science, designed
to kill target animals as
quickly and humanely as
possible, and be effective
in minimizing conflicts,
McDonald said.

Xanders first buck

Xander Pugh of Fort Peck bagged his first buck, a

big-bodied 3X4 muley which will help feed his family
this winter. He shot it in the neighbors yard in Fort
Peck from 45 yards no, NO, NO, just kidding!
They were on a family outing this past Friday in their
secret spot, as evidenced by his Mom Doreens big
muley she bagged on Thursday (pictured below). A
very avid angling and hunting family, well have to see
what Dear Ol Pa Dale harvests. The general hunting
season will end on Sunday, November 27th.

Cat-Griz game Saturday

Its looking like the 116th Brawl of the Wild and
the Great Divide Trophy wont mean much more than
bragging rights as the Big Sky Conference regular season
comes to a close this Saturday.
Montana States playoff hopes were dashed midway
through the season and the University of Montanas
playoff hopes have been all but flushed down the
toilet this past Saturday with a 28-25 loss to Northern
Colorado (losses to Eastern Washington, Northern
Arizona and Cal Poly didnt help their bid, either).
However, there is still a tiny glitter of hope for the
Griz if they can knock of the Bobcats in Missoula this
Saturday; entering the weekend at 6-4 are Montana,
Weber State, Cal Poly and Northern Colorado. Griz fans
will also be pulling for UNC to upset Cal Poly at home,
and for Idaho State to pull off an upset over Weber State.
Pending the weeks outcomes, the selection
committee could have a handful of 7-4 teams to choose
from in the Big Sky, leaving someone on the outside
looking in. One thing that could be in Montanas favor
is the Big Skys tiebreaker rules that use Sagarin Ratings
to determine a winner using a formula based not only
on wins and losses but strength of schedule as well. The
Griz are currently the Big Skys second-ranked team
in current Sagarin Ratings at No. 110, with Eastern
Washington coming in at 69, Weber at No. 162, Cal Poly
at 142, and Northern Colorado at No. 178.
Dating back to the first game in 1897, the rivalry
is the 31st oldest among active rivalries in NCAA
Division I and of those is the eleventh oldest west of
the Mississippi River. It is also the fourth oldest active
rivalry in the FCS and the oldest west of the Mississippi
River.
The Grizzlies and Bobcats didnt play each other
in 1905-07, 1924 or 1942-45. Montana leads the series
72375. The Grizzlies have won the past three games
and eight of the last 10. Their longest win streak over the
Bobcats occurred from 1986-2001, 16 straight games.
So, since 1986 (does that year ring a bell to Scotty
football fans?) the Bobcats have beaten the Grizzlies just
five times.
Kickoff between this great rivalry is at noon on
Saturday, November 19th. The Griz/Cat game will be the
Big Skys featured game of the week on the ROOT Sports
Network and DIRECTVs Audience Network. Tom
Glasgow will provide the play-by-play on the broadcast,
with Jason Stiles serving as the color commentator and
Jen Mueller on the sidelines.
