Duaas for Days

Nu'man bin Bashir (R) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (S) said:

{ } ." "
"Indeed the supplication is the worship." Then he recited: "And your Lord said: Invoke Me,
I will respond to you." [Sunan Ibn Majah, Sahih]

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1. Rasulullah (S)s most oft-recited duaa:

" "
"Allahumma atina fid-dunya hasanatan, wa fil-akhirati hasanatan, wa qina 'adhabannar
(O our Rabb! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that
which is good, and save us from the punishment of the Fire)."' [Sahih Bukhari and
Muslim]
2. Best manner of asking for forgiveness:




Allhumma anta rabb l ilha ill anta, khalaqtan, wa ana `abduka, wa ana `al
`ahdika wa wa`dika ma-staa`tu. A`dhu bika min sharri ma ana`tu, ab'u laka

bini`matika `alayya wa ab'u laka bidhanb faghfirl, fa-innahu l yaghfirudhdhunba ill anta.
O Allah! You are my Lord. None has the right to be worshipped except You. You
created me and I am your servant and I abide by your covenant and promise as
best I can. I seek refuge in you from the evil, which I have committed. I
acknowledge your favor upon me and I knowledge my sins, so forgive me, for
verily none can forgive sin except you. [Sahih Bukhari]
3. For the hearts:


Rabban L Tuzigh Qulban Ba`da 'Idh Hadaytan Wa Hab Lan Min Ladunka
Ramatan 'Innaka 'Anta Al-Wahhbu
{"Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from
Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower.} Surah Al-i-Imran, Ayah 8
4. Another one:

"Allahumma musarrifal-qulubi, sarrif qulubana 'ala ta'atika
(O Allah! Controller of the hearts, direct our hearts to Your obedience)." [Sahih
Muslim]
5. Seeking forgiveness and good company:

Rabban 'Innan Sami`n Mundan Yund Lil'mni 'An 'min Birabbikum


Fa'mann Rabban Fghfir Lan Dhunban Wa Kaffir `Ann Sayyi'tin Wa
Tawaffan Ma`a Al-'Abrri
{Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith, [saying], 'Believe in your
Lord,' and we have believed. Our Lord, so forgive us our sins and remove from us
our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous.} Surah Al-i-Imran, Ayah 193

6. On religion, the Hereafter, life, and death:

"Allahumm-aslih li diniyalladhi huwa 'ismatu amri, wa aslih li dunyaya-llati fiha
ma'ashi, wa aslih li akhirati-llati fiha ma'adi, waj'alil-hayata ziyadatan li fi kulli
khair, waj'alil-mauta rahatan li min kulli sharrin
(O Allah, make my religion easy for me by virtue of which my affairs are
protected, set right for me my world where my life exists, make good for me my
Hereafter which is my resort to which I have to return, and make my life prone to
perform all types of good, and make death a comfort for me from every evil)."
[Sahih Muslim]
7. Weve wronged ourselves:

Rabban alamn 'Anfusan Wa 'In Lam TaghfirLan Wa Taramn Lanaknanna
Mina Al-Khsirna {... "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not
forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."} Suratl
`Araf, Ayah 23

8. Duaa of Yunus (AS)... If any Muslim supplicates with these words, Allah will
accept his supplication :


L ilha ill anta subnaka inn kuntu mina-limn.
There is none worthy of worship except You, Glory to You, Indeed, I have been of
the transgressors. [At-Tirmidhi]

9. Duaa of the Youth of the Cave:

Rabban 'tin Min Ladunka Ramatan Wa Hayyi' Lan Min 'Amrin Rashadan
{... "Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair
right guidance."} Suratl Kahf, Ayah 10
10. Against laziness, helplessness, from a duaa not answered and more:

"Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-'ajzi wal-kasali, wal-bukhli wal-harami, wa
'adhabil-qabri. Allahumma ati nafsi taqwaha, wa zakkiha Anta khairu man
zakkaha, Anta waliyyuha wa maulaha. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'ilmin la
yanfau', wa min qalbin la yakhsha'u, wa min nafsin la tashba'u, wa min da'watin la
yustajabu laha'
[O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the inability (to do good), indolence, cowardice,
miserliness, decrepitude and torment of the grave. O Allah! Grant me the sense of

piety and purify my soul as You are the Best to purify it. You are its Guardian and
its Protecting Friend. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the knowledge which is not
beneficial, and from a heart which does not fear (You), and from desire which is
not satisfied, and from prayer which is not answered]." [Sahih Muslim]
11. Asking for the coolness of our eyes:

Rabban Hab Lan Min 'Azwjin Wa Dhurrytin Qurrata 'A`yunin Wa Aj`aln
Lilmuttaqna 'Imman
{..."Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes
and make us an example for the righteous."} Suratl Furqan, Ayah 74
12. Against bad manners, deeds, and aspirations:

"Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min munkaratil-akhlaqi, wal-a'mali, wal- ahwa'i
(O Allah! I seek refuge in You from undesirable manners, deeds, and aspirations)."
[At-Tirmidhi]
13. Placing our trust:

Rabban `Alayka Tawakkaln Wa 'Ilayka 'Anabn Wa 'Ilayka Al-Maru
{...Our Lord, upon You we have relied, and to You we have returned, and to You is
the destination.} Suratl Mumtahanah, Ayah 4
14. Seeking perfection of light:

Rabban 'Atmim Lan Nran Wa Aghfir Lan 'Innaka `Al Kulli Shay'in Qadrun
{..."Our Lord, perfect for us our light and forgive us. Indeed, You are over all things
competent."} Suratt Tahrim, Ayah 8
15. Seeking refuge against the declining of blessings:

"Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matika, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatika, wa
fuja'ati niqmatika, wa jami'i sakhatika
(O Allah! I seek refuge in You against the declining of Your Favours, passing of
safety, the suddenness of Your punishment and all that which displeases You)."
[Sahih Muslim]
16. The #best dhikr & duaa:

The best remembrance is: there is none worthy of worship except Allah (L ilha
illallh) and the best supplication is: All praise is due to Allah (Al-amdulillh).

17. Got debt?

'Allahumm-akfini bihalalika 'an haramika, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwaka
(O Allah! Grant me enough of what You make lawful so that I may dispense with
what You make unlawful, and enable me by Your Grace to dispense with all but
You)." [At-Tirmidhi]

18. To the Turner of the hearts:

'Ya muqallibal-qulubi, thabbit qalbi 'ala dinika
(O Controller of the hearts make my heart steadfast in Your religion)." [At-Tirmidhi]
19. Seeking His Love, love of those who love Him, & more:

'Allahumma inni as'aluka hubbaka, wa hubba man yuhibbuka, wal-'amalalladhi
yuballighuni hubbaka. Allahumm-aj'al hubbaka ahabba ilayya min nafsi, wa ahli,
wa minal-ma'il-baridi
(O Allah! I ask You for Your Love, the love of those who love You, and deeds which
will cause me to attain Your Love. O Allah! Make Your Love dearer to me than
myself, my family and the cold water)."' [At-Tirmidhi]
20. Seeking the good that Rasulullah (S) sought:

'Allahumma inni as'aluka min khairi ma sa'alaka minhu nabiyyuka Muhammadun
sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Wa 'a'udhu bika min sharri mas-ta'adha minhu
nabiyyuka Muhammadun sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Wa Antal-Musta'anu, wa
'alaikal-balaghu, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah
(O Allah, I beg to You the good which Your Prophet Muhammad ( )begged of You;
and I seek refuge in You from the evil where from Your Prophet Muhammad ()

sought refuge. You are the One from Whom help is sought and Your is the
responsibility to communicate (the truth). There is no power or strength except
with Allah the Exalted, the Great."' [At-Tirmidhi]
21. Seeking benefit from every good deed & more:

"Allahumma inni as'aluka mujibati rahmatika, wa 'aza'ima maghfiratika, wassalamata min kulli ithmin, wal-ghanimata min kulli birrin, wal-fawza bil- jannati,
wannajata mina-nar
(O Allah! I beg You for that which incites Your Mercy and the means of Your
forgiveness, safety from every sin, the benefit from every good deed, success in
attaining Jannah and deliverance from Fire)." [Al-Hakim]

22. A duaa of Musa (AS) when everything seemed to be falling apart:

{..."My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in
need."} Suratl Qasas, Ayah 24
23. Seeking patience and a good end:

Rabban 'Afrigh `Alayn abran Wa Tawaffan Muslimna

{... Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims [in submission to
You]."} Suratl Aaraaf, Ayah 126
24. He has supplicated to Allah by His Greatest Name, the one which if He Is
called upon by it, He responds, and when He is asked by it, He gives :




Allhumma l ilha ill ant, al-Mannn, Bad`us-samwti wal-ar, Dhal-Jalli wal
Ikrm.
O Allah, none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, You are the One Who
gives blessings, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Possessor of glory and
generosity. [At-Tirmidhi]
25. Seeking forgiveness for the past & the future:

"Allahumm-aghfir li khati'ati, wajahli, wa israfi fi amri, wa ma Anta a'lamu bihi
minni. Allahumm-aghfir li jiddi wa hazli, wa khata'i wa 'amdi, wa kullu dhalika 'indi.
Allahumm-aghfir li ma qaddamtu wa ma akhkhartu, wa ma asrartu, wa ma
a'lantu, wa ma Anta a'lamu bihi minni. Antal-Muqaddimu, wa Antal-Mu'akhkhiru;
wa Anta 'ala kulli shai'in Qadir
(O Allah! Forgive my errors, ignorance and immoderation in my affairs. You are
better aware of my faults than myself. O Allah! Forgive my faults which I
committed in seriousness or in fun deliberately or inadvertently. O Allah! Grant me
pardon for those sins which I committed in the past and I may commit in future,
which I committed in privacy or in public and all those sins of which You are better
aware than me. You Alone can send whomever You will to Jannah, and You Alone

can send whomever You will to Hell-fire and You are Omnipotent)." [Sahih Bukhari
]and Muslim
26. For our beloved parents:

{...Creator of the heavens and earth, You are my protector in this world and in the
Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous."} Surah
Yusuf, Ayah 101

28. For the Dunya not to be our main concern, and more:

wa min ta'atika ma tuballighuna bihi jannataka, wa minal-yaqini ma tuhawwinu
'alaina masa-'ibad-dunya. Allahumma matti'na biasma'ina, wa absarina, wa
quwwatina ma ahyaitana, waj'alhul-waritha minna, waj'al tharana 'ala man
zalamana, wansurna 'ala man 'adana, wa la taj'al musibatana fi dinina, wa la
taj'alid-dunya akbara hammina, wa la mablagha 'ilmina, wa la tusallit 'alaina manla yarhamuna
(O Allah, apportion to us such fear as should serve as a barrier between us and
acts of disobedience; and such obedience as will take us to Your Jannah; and such
as will make easy for us to bear in the calamities of this world. O Allah! let us
enjoy our hearing, our sight and our power as long as You keep us alive and make
our heirs from our own offspring, and make our revenge restricted to those who
oppress us, and support us against those who are hostile to us let no misfortune
afflict our Deen; let not worldly affairs be our principal concern, or the ultimate
limit of our knowledge, and let not those rule over us who do not show mercy to
us)." [At-Tirmidhi]
29. Duaa of Sulayman (AS) after hearing the ants speech:

Rabbi 'Awzi`n 'An 'Ashkura Ni`mataka Allat 'An`amta `Alayya Wa `Al Wa ADayya Wa 'An 'A`mala lian Tarhu Wa 'Adkhiln Biramatika F `Ibdika Alina
{..."My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed
upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And
admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants."} Suratn
Naml, Ayah 19

30. For beneficial knowledge, pure sustenance, and acceptable deeds:

Allahumma inni asaluka ilman nafian, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa amalan
mutaqabbalan
(O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision and acceptable
deeds). [Sunan Ibn Majah]

ba'dal-kawri, wa da'watil-mazlumi, wa suw'il-munzari fil-ahli wal-mal
(O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the hardships of travel and the sorrows of
return, from loss after plenty, from the supplication of the one who has been
wronged, and seeing some calamity befall my family or wealth.)" [Sunan anNasa'i]
34. For the goods:

"Allahumma inni as'alukal-huda, wat-tuqa, wal-'afafa, wal-ghina
(O Allah! I beseech You for guidance, piety, chastity and contentment). [Sahih

35. Seeking acceptance of a good deed:
