How Guns Are to Blame for Everything.
As the new elections steadily approach, the gun debates are reviving with
new strength. So what is the right answer, you might ask? Well its all to do with
where we came from in terms of our history.
The United States has many outdated laws that need more attention. One of
them is gun laws. In my opinion, we need much stricter gun laws, background
checks, and owner training.
The reason the United States allowed guns in its infancy is because of the
British. After rebelling against such a huge and powerful country, Americans feared
hate crimes and other offences by the British Military and British Officials. As a
consequence, the government passed an amendment, that is, the second
amendment, to the constitution allowing all guns.
Fast forward to the 2000s and you see a huge increase in gun-related
violence. There are various theories as to why this violence happens. While
scientists are hard at work trying to figure out what the root cause of the violence is,
one of the simplest ways to reduce this violence is to restrict second amendment.
According to the Gun Control Explained article from The New York Times,
with the exception of a few cases, most people can just walk into a gun shop and
buy almost any weapon sold there with pretty much no background checks. This
person could be a peaceful citizen, a crazy but undiagnosed maniac, or a terrorist.
If we have extensive background checks of everyone involved in buying and
selling all guns, it will decrease the access of mentally ill people or criminals to
guns, but this is not enough. For this to really work, we need to have many more
restrictions. We also need extensive training requirements for those people who
want a gun.
For example, according to Missouri Gun Bill Allows Concealed Carry Without
Training from the Law Officer, Getting a permit to carry a concealed firearm in
Missouri is a pretty straightforward process. This is a prime example of the
problem. It will not be surprising if there will be a shooting in that area pretty soon.
In the end, what we really need is to have some sort of mental checkup
added alongside stricter background checks. We also need gun holders to be
thoroughly trained to be able to have a first-response of pulling out a gun in a
certain situation because if they have a gun, but just lie down in fear during a gun
shooting, then there is no point in having a gun in the first place. This training
should be designed to filter out those who will not be able to handle a gun in the
stress of a gun shooting.

The first step to making these laws a reality is to have a strong political figure
in support of it. There are many pros and cons for the various 2016 Republican and
Democrat presidential nominees. However, according to The dark reason why guns
are virtually guaranteed to be a major issue of the 2016 campaign from the
Business Insider, one of the arguments for Hillary Clinton is that her support for
strict gun control.
My opinion on such issues is valid due to the fact that I am a well-informed
and legal citizen of the United States. I also have researched this topic previously
and therefore have a relatively extensive knowledge of this topic.
