Abstract
Before the 20th century geothermal fluidwas only used for bathing, washing and
cooking and later the utilization are incresingly, not only for electric power but
also for other sectors of non electric, which are for heating the room, greenhouse,
farmland and others. This study will be focused on utilization of geothermal fluid
for electric power generation.
Main factors that should be considered to decide whether of geothermal resource
is appropriate for electric power generationare temperature, heat source,
geothermal fluid, reservoir, and cap rock.
Study of geothermal manifestation potential is located in Wawolesea Area, North
Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province and recently that area has been
developed ashot springtourist destination. This study is conducted with survey
methodssuch as idenfication of floate rock samples, analysis of geothermal fluid
sample, and untilconduct laboratory analyses. Geologically, study area covered in
Meluhu Formation which are dominated by sandstone, shale, phyllite, slate,
limestone and silt. Structural geology in this area is controlled by Lasolo Fault
which trend southeast northwest.
Keywords: Geothermal, fluid, electric power generation, structural geology.
