Nabadwip on the Bank of Bhaghirathi River and the birth place of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is an

ancient city/town humming with several historical temples and places of historical importance
attract the visitors from all over India and abroad necessitating the need of protecting these
ancient temple and places of historical importance and the exiting heritages which are on the
brink of almost vanishing due to proper lack of preservation and conservation .Nabadwip will be
place of attraction for the visitors from India and abroad if proper care be taken for its
preservation and conservation for its ancient heritage and it will be a source of revenue for
further development of this religious and ancient city which is one of the main livelihood for the
people of Nabadwip being deprived of any industrial development and thus it is become
necessary to declare it as a heritage city due to existing of several heritage herein :

Sri Sri Gouranga Mahaprabhu Temple


In 1975 the temple was established by renowned Baishnabachairya and distinguish in
songs and Sanskrith literature Sri Ramdas Babaji Maharaj and it was conducted by
distinguish follower and song lover pandit Pandit Chaitanya Babaji Maharaj .

Bhaba Tarani Kali Mandir


Bhaba Tarani Kali Mandir is situated on the right side of Porama Temple formerly it was
Ganesh Idol established by Raj Raghab Roy of Nadia long nose of Ganesh Idol was
broken by falling into Ganga River erosion and later on it was established by changing its
name Bhaba Tarani Idol by king Girish Chandra .

Shib Mandir by the side of Porama Mandir


Big Idol of Shiba Linga is located by the left side of Porama Mandir . The Shib Linga
was worshiped by the king Rudra Roy on the bank of Bhagirathi was lost in Ganga
erosion and it was again established by the left side of Porama by Girish Chandra (18021841) by taking it out from Ganga River .

Sri Anumahaprabhu Temple of Manipur Rajbari


King Bhagyachandra brought the Idol of Sri Sri Gouranga (Anuprabhu) from Manipur
and started worshipping at the birth place of Bishnu Priya at Malancha Para by placing it
Pitambar Goswami to enthuse the Bashnibs there in the era 1798. Later on Chourjit
Singh establish Sri Anuprabhu temple At Manipur Rajbari on the land measuring Two
Bigha and Six Chatak being donated by King Girish Chandra (1802-1841) and the area
was named Manipur by King Girish Chandra.

Establishment of National University of Sanskrit by Buno Ramnath


In the 9th century Sanskrit discussion was again started by the distinguish Veda knowing
pandit Bhatta Narayan in Nabadwip and it continued unresisted Basudeb Sarvabhom
,Raghunath Siromoni (1480), Sri Chaitanyadeb (1486) , Ramchandra Sarbabhom ,
Krishnananda Agambagish , Biswanath Nayaya Panchanan (1500) and Buno Ramnath
kept its flow like ocean and Bgagirathi current .After the death of Buno group of Sanskrit
pandit Banga Bhibhudha Janani established National Sanskrit University in the year 1342
in ward no-14 .

Birth place of Tantra Sadhak Krishnananda Agambagish


Dakhina Kali Idol was first initiated by Tantra sadhak Krishnananda Agambagish the
author of Tantrasar and Sritatwabhodhini holy book and pandit in tantra Shastra in
Nabadwip Agameswari para (Ward no-2) . His Birth Place and Panchamurti Asram are
seen even today.
