Dr. Jerry Gibson

Superintendent of Schools
Marshall Independent School District
1305 E. Pinecrest
Marshall, TX 75670
Dr. Gibson and Members of the Search Committee,
It is an honor to work for the school district I attended for 13 years and the one that
helped mold me into the professional that I am today. I truly believe in our MISD vision that
every MISD school will be a thriving, dynamic, and inspiring educational environment that
produces self-directed learners and stimulates citizens of all ages to trust in, invest in and
benefit from public education.
I would love to give back and invest in our community by applying for the Bilingual
Coordinator position at Marshall ISD. As an instructional leader, I will work effectively to facilitate
the professional development and growth of teachers and support the development of
researched-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance. I will do
my best to ensure that parents are aware of the education their children are receiving, are active
participants in the decision making process involving their children's education, and are trained
to help their children be successful.
It brings me great joy to serve others for I know that is my purpose. I am truly a team
player and I aspire to help our district grow and serve our bilingual student population
adequately and equitably. I want to ensure that our classrooms are truly student centered and
that each and every student is receiving the best education. I hope that my proficiency in both
English and Spanish allows me to communicate effectively with a wide range of our population. I
am enclosing my resume which showcases my experiences and skills. Thank you for your time.
I look forward to meeting with you.
Sincerely,

Esmeralda M. Collazo
