Rationale/Justification
The curriculum resources include a collection of websites that I have
researched and filed to address the TEKS and to engage students
deeper in learning. This activity shows that I am able to use
appropriate materials for planning lessons as well as use
technological tools to promote learning and expand instructional
options.
This activity includes many ways of measuring objects. The students
learn how to use measuring tools to measure various aspects of an
object. This activity shows that I as a teacher can use hands-on
materials that will help students understand the content and let the
students manipulate and learn how to use the various materials and
resources. This activity also shows that I can get the students engaged
with an activity and be able to learn more about measuring in the
process. With this activity, the students have to estimate each
measuring object to see how big their animal is. This shows that I can
get the students thinking and engage their minds in the activity.

This activity would be a unit. This activity shows that I can get my
students to look at the world around them and use real life
experiences to complete the project. Also, this activity shows that I
can get families involved with a project. The students and parents and
other family members can go outside and look at the moon, and the
parents can ask their children questions about what they see to
complete the assignment.

3. Social Studies:
President Cereal
Box

Standard I:
1.16s-The beginning teacher is able
to use various types of materials and
other resources to aid in preparing
and implementing information.

With this activity, this shows that as a teacher, I can use multiple
resources and materials to engage my students into an activity or
assignment. These materials are all things they may see in their
world. By using these materials, they can use them to create the final
product and use it how they want.

4. Social Studies:
Historical Figure
Coke Bottle

Standard I:
1.16s-The beginning teacher is able
to use various types of materials and
other resources to aid in preparing
and implementing information.

Again, this activity shows that I can use and implement resources
from the world of the students into the classroom. With this activity, I
can help the students make these historical figures a reality for them,
they can only see so much in books. If I use this activity in the
classroom, I can help the students make the connection between the
books and a real life object that they can touch, feel, and see.

5. Classroom
Management:
Classroom Rules

Standard II:
2.6s-The beginning teacher is able to
establish classroom rules and
procedures to promote an organized
and productive learning environment
2.16s-The beginning teacher is able
to encourage students to maintain
ethical work standards and monitor
their own behavior.

These are classroom rules that I would implement in my classroom.

As a teacher, this shows that I want my rules and expectations stated
in a positive way. These rules are easy to implement and use in the
classroom. Along with these rules, there are examples of how the
rules can be followed. As a teacher, I will go over these with my
students and show them how to monitor themselves while in the
classroom by referring to the rules and seeing the examples.
