Associated Learning Standard(s):
The resource is generally applicable, but most applicable when presenting final projects/papers/ideas.
The ISTE standards for teachers that Animoto aligns with are all three: Facilitate and inspire learning and
creativity, design and develops digital age learning experiences and assessments, and model digital age
work and learning.
The standards for students that Animoto aligns with are: Creativity and innovation, communication and
collaboration, and critical thinking and problem solving, and decision making.

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Animoto is a digital story telling website that allows students to create, finalize, and present their
projects/ideas/papers in a unique and creative way. Instead of using PowerPoint, students can easily add
videos, sounds, and pictures in a professional and sharp-looking presentation. I personally chose this
resource because I think it is a unique way to present to the class. I think students would enjoy making
an Animoto versus a PowerPoint or even, possibly, a Prezi.

INTEGRATION IDEA - COLLABORATION

How might you integrate this resource in a lesson plan to promote collaboration among students in your
classroom, or among students and others outside of the classroom?
The way I would integrate Animoto in the classroom is have students create a group presentation for a
project they were working on. They could write a paper and present the main ideas and concepts of their
paper using Animoto. Animoto would keep student engaged while making it and their peers engaged
while viewing their classmates work

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION

Based on the value-added rating scale above, how would you rate the technology integration
you described, using the selected resource?

Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.

I would give Animoto a 2.5 because I dont think a lesson would be impossible without it, but it does
align to content standards, it transforms the lesson, it will definitely increase student engagement and
contribute to master of the concepts, and it is optimal in a student-centered environment where
students are active and engaged in learning content.
