Q.I: On Electromagnetic Induction

1) Explain Strength of magnetic flux:

An Explanation of the strength of the magnetic flux passing through a magnetic

field
A magnetic field is referred to as the space that surrounds an object that is considered
as a permanent magnet or an electromagnet where the existence of the electric filed is felt
by another magnet or magnetic material.
On the other hand, magnetic flux, also known as the magnetic lines of force refers to
the surface that is integral of being the normal component of the magnetic field. Magnetic
flux measurements are taken using a flux meter that comes with coils and electronics which
are ones that make an evaluation of the changes in voltage in the coils that are used to
measure, to make calculations for the magnetic flux.
When magnetic flux is put through a surface, it relies on splitting the surface into small
elements when the magnetic field is variable.
2) How does current generate a magnetic field:

Generation of a magnetic field by Current

It is possible to produce a magnetic field through an electric current which is normally
seen as series of circular fields that appears as lines around a wire segment. How this is
visible when iron filings are brought close to a wire that carries electric current. The direction
of the electric current as well as the magnetic lines of force can be determined by the
application of the standard conventions that employs the right-hand rule for the magnetic
field. The right-hand rule for the magnetic field dictates that if you wrapped your right hand
round a wire with the thumb of that hand pointing to the direction the electrical current was
headed, then the direction of the rest of the other fingers is the direction of the magnetic
field.
When an electron, a proton or even an ion is charged, they automatically get into
motion, causing the magnetic lines of motion to make rotations around this particle and given
the fact that electrical current moving through the wire contains electrons that are in motion,
a magnetic field is created around the wire.
3) Discuss the electromagnetic application

The electromagnetic application of;

Lenzs Law; The Lenzs law is a law that supports Newtons third law of motion that dictates that, for every
action, there is an equal opposite reaction. Therefore, the Lenzs law states that, the direction of current in a conductor
by a changing magnetic field affected by the Faradays law causes a field that is an opponent to the change that
produces it. Examples of where the Lenzs law has been applied is in an electric generator; inducing current in an
electric generator opposes and causes the rotation of the generator due to the fact that the generator is forced to
require more mechanical energy thus providing back emf in case of electric motors. Electromagnetic braking and
induction cook tops are other applications of the Lenzs law.
Faradays Law; This is an electromagnetic basic law that makes predictions on the way magnetic fields
interacts with electrical circuits to give out the electromotive force through electromagnetic induction. Faradays law
application is used through the working of electric transformers, generators as well as solenoids.
Induced Fields; The working of the credit cards as storage media is one of the application of the induced
fields of the electromagnetic induction.
