Fear of the dentist most likely stems

Dont worry about making your fib
sound convincing, because flossing
may not be as important as once
believed. According to a recent
Associated Press article, the research
backing flossing used by dental associations such as the ADA, the federal
government and manufacturers of
dental floss have been mostly discredited or provide unreliable evidence of
any real, long-term results.
However, according to the ADA,
Even in the absence of strong evidence, patients often look to the professional for guidance. While the average
benefit [of flossing] is small and the
quality of the evidence is very low,
given that periodontal disease is estimated to affect half of all Americans,
even a small benefit may be helpful.
