Context of the lesson
The lesson is about the circulatory system. This lesson will help the students in extending their knowledge
and gain new vocabularies about Science. They will learn the organs that make this system. The function of
this system and the kind of bloods that works in this system.

Unit/page

This lesson is about the circulatory system, lesson 1 in unit 5: structure and function.
Teaching goal (generally)
Students will be able to understand what is the circulatory system.
.
Learning objectives (specific)
- Students will be able to identify the meaning of the circulatory system.
- Students will be able to describe the organs of the circulatory system organs.
- Students will be able to identify the function of each blood vessel types (arteries, capillaries, and the
veins)
Assumptions about prior learning
- Students already studied about the detentions from the cells to the organs.
- Students already can define the class, tissues, organs and system.
- Students can understand the key terms that I will use in explaining the lesson.
Anticipated problems and possible solutions
- The number of students is 32, so, I can lose my connection with some students if I didnt walk
around.
- Some students may have difficulties in watching the whiteboard because its not in the center of the
class, they are two separate boards in the class. So, I will only use the smart board in explaining the
lesson.
- Some students can try to answer, but they dont have enough vocabularies. So, I should focus while
they are answering and try to give a chance to think and analyze the answer for me.
- Some students may talk, and then I can lose the controlling because the lesson will be in the seventh
class and this means that they are bored and waiting for the bell to ring. I will try to attract their
attention with creative activities, rewards, and strong personality.
- The lesson may not take one class because the students are slow in applying things, and doing
activities, so, I can separate it into two classes if there is not enough time. I think that the important
thing is that they understand the lesson well.
Personal focus for this lesson
- I will try to combine between the kindness and being able to control the class.
- I will try to not being very strict because I want to let the students comfortable while practicing and

giving an answer.

Main tasks or activities

- I will start with engaging the students.
- I will give the students a worksheet about
the previous lesson.
- I will distribute different activity for each
level.
- I will give the high level writing the
definitions of the key terms.
- I will say, okay students start reading the
questions and writing the suitable answers.
- After they will finish the activity, I will say
okay lets discuss the answers together.
- I will give the medium level worksheets to
match the definitions with the key terms.
- I will give the low level students a key terms
with the pictures for each key term
- The second activity is related to the explore
stage.
- I will distribute plates, fake blood, cloves,
bottle of water that include a blood vessels
pictures, pump and balloon.
- I will ask them to open the pumps.
- Put the blood inside the pumps.
- Press and notice what will happened.
- After that we will discuss about the
experiments and the results.
- Them, I will show a PPT that include the

Teacher language
- The objective of todays lesson is
- The date is
- We will start our lesson for today, which
about the circulatory system
- Match each definition with the key term
- Be quiet
- You will have bottles, fake blood by group
notice what will happen.
- Press, then, notice what will happen
- So, these are the organs of the circulatory
system.
- After we took the organs, lets move to the
main lesson.
- These are the functions of the circulatory
system
- This system includes 3 kinds of blood vessels.
The function of these vessels
- We will have a quiz
- Self-evaluation, you are going to judge your
understanding of the lesson.
Resources and teaching aids
- Worksheets
- Smart board to present the PowerPoint
- Bottles of water with balloons, fake blood and
straws.
- Self- evaluation sheet
- Whiteboard for writing the date and the
objectives
- Rewards

main lesson information and I will explain it

in details.
- The PPT include both, the elaborate
information and the explain.
- I will show them also the different type of
blood and the best blood is the black one.
- Then, I will give them advices to keep their
blood healthy, such as; eating green
vegetables.
- Then, I will ask them if they need help or not
or if they have questions or not.
- After that, I will distribute a quiz to the
students.
- I will give them the rest of the time to finish
solving the exam because its the eight
period and they should get out earlier
because they should collect their things.
- Then, if there is enough time I will give them
the self-evaluation paper about their
understanding.
Consider these grouping strategies:
- Group working (the activity of the
engagement stage and the explore stage)
- Pair works (in the evaluation stage,
discussion and present about the blood
vessels, acting)
- Individually (worksheet in the elaborating
stage).

Consider where the children are working:

- At their desks
- Presenting in front of the board.

Planning Stages Within the 5-E Inquiry Model

Engage

Questions for each group discussion about the previous lesson which includes the key terms of cells, tissue,
organs and system.
Teacher
- The teacher will divide the classroom into 6
groups; each group includes 5 students
instead of two groups will include 6
students.
- The teacher will give them the instructions
about the activity.
- Walking around to check their process in

Student
Low: will get a matching worksheet that includes
pictures of the cells, organs, tissue and the system and
matching it to the proper definition.
Middle: cards included key terms and definitions, and
the students should stick them together.

working.
Asking one student from each group to
present the answers.

High: writing the definitions from their own words.

Activities (list)
I will distribute the materials that needed
for the experiments. Water bottles, blood
vessels by glue and colors and balloons
with fake blood to introduce the lesson
about the circulatory system and
showing the organs.

Driving Question
What did you see?
What happened?
The bottle is showing what?
The balloon is showing what?
The central organ that distributes the blood
is the heart.

Student
All of the students will apply the same experiment,
and this is because its simple, clear and fit for the
stage.
And they should write their notes down.
Low: will only write notes about the things that on the
bottle.

Giving the instructions.

Distributing the materials.
Select students to answer.

Middle: the notes will be about selecting what each

material represents.
High: the notes that they will write, about what each
organ do from their observation.
Student Communication Product:
-

Oral discussion of what they do and the reasons that they got.
Explain and Elaborate

Content Media: teacher lecture by using PowerPoint that explains the organs of the circulatory system. And
the three blood vessels.
Teacher

- Provide students with relevant vocabulary,
- Listen and interact with the teacher questions.
formal definitions, and explanations of
concepts.
- Explaining the circulatory system function
and showing the organs that make the
circulatory system.
- Add the information about the types of the
blood vessels.
