Describe the instructional activities that will occur prior to the SRS activity and how you will
introduce the SRS activity: I will introduce this subject by having them take a pretest created through
Socrative. I will look at the responses and analyze the data to see what subject areas need the most work.
We will complete multiple activities such as thinking webs, pictures of the weather, etc. At the end of the
unit, I will have them retake this test.
Describe the purpose of the SRS activity (check all that apply):
Assess Prior Knowledge Anticipatory Set (Create Interest in a Topic) To Illuminate Common

mastery for ALL students) Summative Assessment of Content Knowledge Test Preparation

Type of session: Teacher-Paced

Identification of students:
Students will log-in so their individual scores will be available to you after the session
SRS activity will be anonymous
Briefly describe what will happen during the SRS activity: Students will be taken to the computer lab
both times they take the quiz. I will monitor to make sure they are using the site correctly. The students
wont need any extra materials. I will give them 10-15 minutes to complete.

Right/Wrong Answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions? Yes
No
Mixed (Some will have correct answers, others will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback:
Will you pre-select correct answers to some or all of the questions and display correct response to the class
after the SRS activity? Yes
No
Why or why not? They will be told the correct answer after the post-unit test.
Use of data: The data will be used to see what subject areas within the unit I need to focus on. If everyone
knows what summer is and few students know what fall is, then I will focus more on fall. The pretest will
not be for a grade, but the post test will be a graded activity. I will let the class know how much better they
did on the post test and let them compare their individual scores privately to see how they improved.
