C-, or 1.5 out of 4, on the Weather Bar Graph assessment.
3 students earned a perfect score of
4 out of 4 on the Weather Bar Graph assessment.
Student 17 earned a zero on the
Weather Bar Graph assessment.
18 out of the 20 students earned a
grade of .5 or lower under the category of labels.
Hypotheses: What hypotheses can you
make about each fact? (Answer the question, what did you do that contributed to these results?) (Past Tense) I did not teach the students how to think beyond just thought to actually creating the graph. The students did not get enough practice or feedback from me to help prepare them for the assessment.
Action Plan: What will you do
based on the facts and hypotheses you concluded? (Future Tense)
I taught the content accurately and
appropriately for the top three students in the class. I taught my lesson in a way that made since to them, but maybe not some others. I went to fast for the student and they couldnt keep up. I did not give enough clear examples or hands on activities to help the student understand.
N/A
I have not thoroughly prepared students
to create their own graphs with all the required labels. I have not given enough examples, or given students enough visual or hands on.
I will go back and reteach the
important steps or components needed for a graph or table. I will work with students with example graphs to help them see what needs to be put in their own graphs.
I will have the student complete
another assignment similar to this assignment. I will make sure the student does not get a zero for the class. I will also go over how to make a graph and have the student practice making a graph one step at a time. I will go back and teach specifically about labels and graphs. I will show them examples of graphs while I am instructing. I will make sure students understand the content before we move on again.
