GLASS IONOMER CEMENT (GIC) OCCLUSAL RESTORATION


Abstract
Glass ionomer cements have been used in restorative dentistry since long time ago. This
material has benefits, there are fluoride release, chemical adhesion to tooth, and the color
which have the similarities with tooth color. Glass ionomer cements usually can be used in
caries tooth in many areas, one of them is occlusal caries. This paper reviews the use of glass
ionomer cements in restorative dentistry, especially in occlusal caries. The paper provides the
best technique to use glass ionomer cements in clinical experience.
