In this article a study was done in 2006 over nurse staffing in hospitals from
California, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. They explored how the nurse to patient
ratio affected the amount of patient deaths. This was due to the amount of work
each nurse had to undertake. Therefore, the nurses in California were assigned
two less patients this led to better care of the patients and the mortality rate was
lowered. This article supports the issue on nurse staffing because it provides a
solution. By addressing less patients to one nurse the amount of deaths are
lowered and the better quality work a nurse can provide.

In this article it is stated that around the 1990s in order for hospitals to make more
money they demanded for less nurses. Low nurse staffing not only causes patients
to die, but also for the patients to stay longer at hospitals. In conclusion they
