7e. All Al Qemma staff are expected to contribute to an effective communication system.

Teachers and staff are expected to submit all extra curriculum/outdoor activities [complete
activity form]to the social worker [Thuraya] in a timely manner for placement on the Master
Calender [2 weeks prior to the upcoming month/planned activity/event].
Teachers are expected to meet fortnightly for grade level planning.
Email communications intended for the Al Qemma distribution [entire campus/ a big group of
staff] are expected to be submitted to the Principal and Vice Principal[s] for approval. ADEC
emails must cc: the campus Principal and Vice Principal[s].
Teachers and staff are expected to return calls or emails within 48 hours from a parent or a
guardian.
8. Attendance Policy

Classroom teachers are the most important resource for their students. By taking on this important
position you are making a commitment to your job and your career. To ensure students safety, all Al
Qemma staff are to be in school 15 minutes before and after students arrival and dismissal.
Expected arrival time 6:45a.m and departure time 1:15p.m. Boys section
expected arrival time 7:45a.m. and departure time 2:15p.m Girls section [Flexible 15 minutes
might be considered in some circumstances]
Professional judgment to be used on fog days.

On occasion, circumstances may necessitate your being away from your position.
In the event of an absence/late arrival, the classroom teacher is responsible for contacting the AVP
[or any designated person] by Al Qemma phone and SMS [050 238 3914] no later than 6:30a.m.
or as soon as you know that you are unable to work in term of emergency [The teacher will need
to convey the reason for their absences upon returning to work.
All AlQemma staff are expected to report any and all absences. Any absence that does not have
the Principals approval is unpaid leave. A written notice will be issued for any failure to call and
report your absence and the notice will be kept in your evaluation folder for the current year.
If you must leave work for any reason before the school day is over, you are expected to inform
the school leadership team [AVP/SSVP or any designated person] and ensure a teacher is in place
to cover your classes [staff will be allowed 90 minutes permission- 2 consecutives periods- for

personal early outs]. A Personal [or an Official] Leave must be requested through the ETA system
and the candidate must sign out while leaving.
