COMPARATIVE FINANCIAL ANALYSIS OF 2 COMPANIES IN ANY 1 INDUSTRY

Mechanics of group formation, allotment of assignment

9 Groups to be formed within each class class CR to coordinate and send Kiran / me details of
group nos. and names/ roll no. of members of each group. Kiran is available on
kiran.doifode@nmims.edu
I have identified 9 industries and, within each industry, a few companies that can be chosen for
the study.
By now, groups must have been formed, and an industry would have been allotted to each group
Once the industry is frozen, one member of each group should meet Mr Kiran Doifode, E 831, 8th
floor, to identify the companies that the group wants to study. Company choice will purely be on
first come, first serve basis. Please do not crowd around and trouble him be organized.

Once a group has identified and frozen the 2 companies it wants to study, these companies will
not be allotted to any other group. There is no reason to believe one company is better than
another so please do not be paranoid and insist on the same company evaluation will not be
affected by which companies have been chosen.

Assignment guidelines
Now, what is expected:
1. Overview of the industrys past, present and future
2. Overview of the selected 2 companies past, present, future

3. A data set of three years of each company to be analysed using various analytical tools.
4. On the basis of the above analysis, conclude on:

Recommend which company is better from the management viewpoint,

Recommend which company is the better from lenders outlook both from
long term and short term perspective.

Recommend which company is the better from the investors viewpoint - both
for long term and short term duration.

When and how to submit the assignment

The assignment should be submitted as a word document and should not exceed 2000 words
(excluding Exhibits).
1. Please mail a soft copy of the report to me at smita.mazumdar@nmims.edu and submit
one hard copy of the Project Report through the CR
2. The document should be named in the following manner : Div_Group no _Industry.docx
Eg, Group 6 of Div H should name its word file as H_6_IT.docx
Please stick to this nomenclature style. Common style helps us to sort, store and retrieve your
documents efficiently.
3. Deadline for submission - EOD of the 18th session of the course
