Information regarding Images (for reference only):

Figure 1 shows the schematic of the timer card, this is the same with the first and second
revision but is not like the original card.
Figure 2 shows the board layout in the CAD drawing software. This layout is for the revised
board. The boards made prior to this have already been assembled.
The prior version of this board has no silk screen and is a bit larger however the wire
arrangement is the same.
Figure 3 shows the 3D rendering of the Rev. B board layout.
You may or may not see this actual board as there is a good supply of the original board.

LAYOUT:
Assembly is straight forward. Just follow the silk screen or this layout figure 4 of the board.
Wires normally get attached with Red to +5 volts, Black to GND, and Green to PC_ON. These wires
are soldered directly to the PCB. The wires should be a little over a foot in length for proper play and
attachment.

Hardware Setup:
Hardware Checklist:
PC (DC7700 or similar)
Special 'timer card'
SCSI card from original frontier (this can be installed when replacing)
3 Wire splicers (See PCB setup for information on acquiring these)
Tools needed:
Digital Multimeter
Screwdrivers - / +
Pliers
The PC that was used as the original replacement for this project was the HP DC7700. When software
becomes available/functional other types of PCs may be used. The PC must have a floppy drive.
Part of the hardware setup can be a bit tedious.
The RED (+5volt) wire gets spliced into the RED power supply cable of the PC.
The BLACK (GND) wire gets spliced into the BLACK power supply cable of the PC.
The GREEN (PC_ON) wire is the tedious one.
You must find the Power on button connector on the Motherboard.
You need to use a multimeter for this step set to the continuity check.
With the Connector still in the Motherboard Probe the chassis of the PC and while
pushing holding the power button in probe each pin of the connector until you find
continuity (BEEEEEEP).
Verify this by repeatedly pushing the power button to get a response from the meter.
This is the wire that must be spliced with the GREEN (PC_ON) wire.
Check for continuity between all connections.
Thats it for the Timer Card it just needs to be screwed into the slot now.
The SCSI card from the Original Frontier will need to be used in the replacement PC.
PC gets put in the Frontier just as the original Toshiba.

Software Setup:
FOR DC7700 ONLY AS OF NOW
Software needed:
DC7700 OS GHOST DVD
Frontier MS01 330 software Load disk
MS01 Install Disk
BACKUP DISKS!!!
Installation instructions:
Installing the software will be pretty typical.
Insert Ghost disk for the DC7700. It will warn you that it is about to start ghosting the Hard
Drive. Press any key to continue the process or remove the DVD and restart if this is in error.
After the Ghost is finished remove the DVD and restart the computer. Windows 2000 should
start loading.
The USB hub drivers may need to be installed after the base OS is re imaged to the Hard Drive
to do this just use the Built in Scanner keyboard to navigate the automated hardware installer's
next buttons as the full keyboard and mouse will be inoperable at this time.
After the new hardware wizard installs the USB device the keyboard and mouse should be
functional. You may or may not be prompted for this device install.
The IP address, register size, resolution and other miscellaneous settings should not need to
be changed.
Insert the Frontier MS01 330 Software load disk and start the installation. The rest of the
process will conform to reloading a normal frontier.
(reference previous documentation for more information if needed)
After the installation of the 330 software is complete you do not have to restart. Start loading
the MS01 software.
(reference previous documentation for more information if needed)
When the MS01 software installation is complete you must Shut down the PC so the Frontier
powers down completely. Then you may press the startup button and it should load and
initialize the Frontier.

Complete!
