Whats a vegetarian

anyway?
Vegetarians are those who eat foods
which do not contain meat of any kind

Are there dangers? Benefits?

Per the ADA, vegetarians have been noted to have lower
levels of saturated fat, cholesterol, mass indices, rates of
death from ischemic heart disease, and lower rates of
hypertension, colon cancer, prostate cancer, and type 2
diabetes
Vegetarians may lack protein, n-3 fatty acids, DHA, ALA,
and Iron which can lead to anemia or iron deficiency
causing headaches, dizziness, and shortness of breath

Well what about meat?

Which diet is better for me?

Meat can offer protection against anxiety,

depression, and bad cholesterol
Eating red meats in excess may increase the risk of
cancer, obesity leading to type 2 diabetes, and
hardening of blood vessels

In a study ran by the ADA over the course of six years,

73,308 church members were tracked to observe their
quality of health related to diet. Those who followed a
meat-less diet had a 12% lower death rate due to related
health conditions as opposed to those who consumed
meat. Studies such as this show that being a vegetarian
may provide further protection from health issues than
meat does.
