Planning phase:
Problems/objectives:
The production process of batteries in atlas is dividing into 8 phases so there is a
need to track the usage of material in every phase and update in the system they
are using. This complete product-lifecycle management is done by Oracle EBusiness Suite .
This production process carried out at 8 different points. Every point gets their
production plan at the day start which mention the number of batteries to be built
on this date. This plan consists the complete procedure of making batteries along
with the average no. of material use in each step. Lets suppose our production plan
says that we have to make 1000 batteries then for the first phase of production i.e.
plate cutting it tells us 100000 plates would be use so in the end of this phase
Manager will update the record in the oracle. this process repeat at each phase of
production so that higher management may come to know about the used material
and available material for the production. The output of pervious phase will be input
for the next phase.
Documents examined:
The daily production plan at each point which tells the available material vs the
used amount of material for the production process.
Officers interviewed:
The planning department which issues production plan to the each point every day
and the manager who updates the oracle in the end of each phase.
