Effective Date: December 12, 2016 until further notice.


Where: Chester Lake and Burstall Pass trailhead parking lots.
Why: Moose approaching vehicles in the parking lots to lick salt from
the sides of the vehicle. Moose on trails near the parking lots.
The recommended moose viewing distance is 30M. Sound a car horn or use
your remote door alarm to deter moose to regain access into your vehicle. Do
not attempt to push moose away from your vehicle while on foot.
Although a warning is in place for this area, moose can be encountered anywhere in
Kananaskis Country and at any time. Minimize your chance of conflict with moose
by:
Keeping your pet on a leash at all times.
Being aware of your surroundings.
Keeping your distance and yielding to moose on the trail
Never getting between a cow and her calf.
Please report all aggressive moose encounters immediately to 403-591-7755.
Pursuant to Section 11(2) of the Provincial Parks Act, General Regulation, it is
unlawful to remove or damage signs and maps relating to warnings and closures.
