14-15 Philosophy

14-15 ‘Casino’
Combination concept
•The 14/15 play is one of our best runs against good
defenses because it destroys LB recognition through the
use of misdirection by the back and Combo or Base blocks
by Guards!
•We generally like to run this play to a 1 technique side to
create a ‘bubble’ between a pass rushing 5 technique and a
double-teamed 1 technique!
•On the frontside, the play functions very much like 12-13 DRAW. For the backside
Tackle & TE, it functions almost exactly like 16-17 TREY.
•The more aggressive the defense as pass rushers or run pursuers, the better the play
opens up!

KEYS to a successful play:

•The Center works with FS or BS Guard to get great MOVEMENT
on the tightest DT/N.
•The RB convinces the LB the play is going opposite by ‘showing
the ear’ on the first two steps. CALLS/VARIATIONS
•The RB smoothly changes directions out of his ‘settle’ step and “Q”
•“Spy”
accelerates into phase with the pulling tackle quickly!
•The FS Tackle creates a good window with a wide split & effective
pass set Base to influence his man up the field!
