On
Laser communication for ambulance

This document gives brief details about the model based on laser transmitter for ambulances to
get traffic clearance on road. In the model, we have used a laser in the wireless communication.
After giving an input of audio the circuit modulates it into laser signal and amplifies and the laser
beam is transmitted which carries the signal and Light Diode Receiver (LDR) receives, the seven
segments LED board lights up giving the signal of an approaching ambulance.
The LM386 is an integrated circuit containing a low voltage audio power amplifier. It is suitable
for battery-powered devices such as radios, guitar amplifiers, and hobby electronics projects.
LM386, resistors, capacitors, multimeter, and other required material were purchased from a
local shop. The assembling of the pilot model was completed on a breadboard and the error
termination was performed by connecting LED at wire junctions and through the multimeter. The
circuit was designed on a (####).
The system was tested with LED, speakers and seven segments LED board as outputs, the
system worked properly with the prior two outputs but needs some changes with the third one.
The system was working properly at a range of 10 meter while needs several modifications for
further extension.
The circuit worked properly for a range of 10meter, the range can be increased by several
modifications in the circuit. There are no problems in the prototype. This project enable the
traffic police on the cross roads to clear the way for approaching ambulance. It is beneficial to
the society and is environment-friendly.
