storage of compressed gas in cylinders is valid up to
30.09.2012.

Protection of Environment

Control Emissions/Air Purification
Nagaon Paper Mill has air pollution control system in both Coal
Fired and Liquor Fired Boilers. In Coal Fired Boiler, we have Multi
Cyclone Separators and in Liquor Fired Boilers and AFBC Boilers
we have Electro Static Precipitators (ESP).

Nagaon Paper Mill has plans to install ESP in all the Coal Fired
Boilers.

Regular monitoring of Stacks as well as Ambient Air is done


Nagaon Paper Mill regularly have implementing and processing
different projects for energy conservation some of the projects are
listed below:
Economizer retrofit in three Coal fired Boilers
Economizer modification of recovery boiler & retrofit of
evaporators
Repair/Replacement of primary and secondary air heater of
recovery.
Reusing of paper machine vaccum pump flume water after
passing through cooling tower & separator.
Fitting of energy efficient steam trap in paper machine etc are
some of the projects.
Nagaon Paper Mill has Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) with both
primary and secondary treatment system to process more than
2000 cubic meter per hour flow of effluents.
Nagaon Paper Mill has biological treatment Lagoons with 21 nos of
Oxy Aerators. Effluents are treated to maintain the prescribed
norms before discharge.
Wastes like fly ash, Coal ash, lime mud, Bamboo Dust and mercury
bearing brine sludge are generated in process.

Fly ash is taken away by Cement/Brick Manufacturers.


Coal Ash is deposited in low lying areas and road building in
villages.

Lime mud is used in Lime re-burning Plant (LMRP) to get


lime, which is again used in process.
Mercury Bearing Brine Sludge is stored in secured land fields
made as per norms and guidelines of Central Pollution
Control Board (CPCB).
Bamboo Dust generated is used in Bamboo Dust
Gasification Plant and the producer gas thus produced is
used in LMRP as fuel.
Farm forestry scheme is implemented to raise bamboo and other
tree species through farmers in their marginal land.
About 50,270 plantlets of bamboo costing around `4,41,180 was
distributed among the farmers of villages like Nagaon, Kamrup,
Morigaon, Karbi Anglong and Golaghat
