BOATS & EQUIPMENT


All boats, oars & rowing ergometers will be provided by The Bengal Rowing
Club. Mishandling of equipment by participants may result in their
disqualification of participation from the event.

TRAINING & PRACTICE


Free Training will be provided to all participating College students by Coaches and
eminent Rowers of The Bengal Rowing Club.

PRACTICE IN BOATS FOR REGISTERED TEAMS ONLY WILL BE ALLOWED FROM
SUNDAY, 01 JANUARY, 2017. PRACTICE IN ERGOMETER WILL BE GIVEN FROM 1ST
FEBRUARY 2017.

It is mandatory for each crew having first time competitors FROM KOLKATA to have
taken a minimum 15 number of Boat Outings to qualify for the races.

ALL ENTRIES WILL CLOSE ON SUNDAY, 5TH FEBRUARY, 2017 AT 5 PM.

RULES: INDOOR ROWING


Each College can select 4 rowers + 1 reserve apart from its rowing team in each
category.
8/4 of the fastest rowers as per the time trials will qualify for the quarter/semi final
depending on number of entries in each category.

A College is allowed only one change in crew per category during the entire event.

Teams must report with ID cards and in racing uniform 30 mins before the Time Trials.
Regatta Committee may change the format or any other matter at any stage of the
event.
No practice will be allowed on racing days.

BOARDING, FOODING AND CONVEYANCE OF OUTSTATION TEAMS


FREE BOARDING FACILITY (DORMITORY) WILL BE PROVIDED TO THE FIRST 50
PARTICIPANTS REGISTERING.
Fooding and Conveyance to the participants will be assisted by BRC on actual cost basis and
the same should be borne by the participants.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Only bonafide, full time student, who has enrolled on or before 1st August 2016 for an under
graduate or post graduate degree or diploma course which is of a minimum duration of one
academic year and whose examination is conducted by the university subsequent to passing
the 12th class examination under the 10+2 pattern of education by a recognized Board of
Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary conducted in the country or an equivalent examination
shall be eligible to participate in the Inter College Championship.
Students of Open Universities shall be considered to be bonafide students and shall be
eligible to participate provided they fulfill other conditions. However students enrolled in
Correspondence Course, Virtual Courses, Institutes or Universities, casual students, external
students ,and students pursuing Bridge courses shall not be eligible to participate.

The age limit of participants should be from 17 years to 25 years old.ie Born on or
before 01.01.1999 & born on or after 01.01.1991.
The participant must not have elapsed 3 years after passing his/her 10+2 examination or
equivalent examination before being admitted in Under graduate courses.
M Phill and PH.D students and post graduate students are eligible to participate provided the
participant complies with other criteria.
A student who have represented another college under any discipline or have been admitted
on or within 1st August 2016 till the finish of the championship is not eligible.
The participant should be a bonafide student of the college for at least 6 months (on or from
1st August 2016) and pursuing the same course of education in that college and must have
minimum knowledge of the course he/she is studying.
Provisional admission to a course /degree of college shall not make the student eligible to
represent the college.
Should not have been rusticated, banned previously by any College, University, State
,National body or by NADA.
The crew must comprise of 50% of Indian Citizens.
Entries per category in each event will be accepted on first come basis.
All participants MUST know how to swim and furnish a bond self attested & signed by
their parents/guardians. Swimming test will be undertaken if required.

All intellectual properties, photographs, electronic recording of the event, broadcasting of the
event is absolute Domain of the Club and can used by any person subject to the license
being granted by the Club only. No sport persons or member of the Club can object to such
usage by the Club or its licensee including broadcast or publication thereof.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR REGISTRATION

Original College Fee Books & Admission slip (which should be on or before
01.08.2016) must be produced by each student at the time of registration.
Original Municipal Birth Certificate / Passport will be required as proof of age.
The Regatta Committee reserves the right to disallow any College / Participant to take
part in the Championship without having to assign any reason for such disqualification.
Teams for registration should fill up the registration form ,scan the proof of age, scan
the individual photo ,scan a group photo of the team along with the authorized
signatory of the institution who have signed the registration form and send to the below
mentioned mail id .
