1. President Ferdinand Marcos should be remembered by his good deeds. On many counts he was an outstanding Filipino: outstanding as a law student, outstanding as a lawyer, outstanding as a legislator, with a degree of intelligence few Filipinos have matched and can match. 2. President Ferdinand Marcos shouldn't be blamed for what his subordinates did. I refuse to blame him for every single act of abuse of his subordinates, considering that if that were our mode of reckoning, all our past presidents would be condemnable on account of one or the other wicked deed of some underling.. 3. Senators proposed to change the name of the LNMB At least two senators proposed changing the name of the Libingan ng mga Bayani to end the debate on the heros burial for the late President Ferdinand Marcos. For Sen. Panfilo Ping Lacson, the heroes' cemetery should be renamed so that public perception may change. He said the cemetery is not just for heroes but also for soldiers. B. Anti-Marcos Burial in LNMB 1. There are petitions to not allow President Ferdinand Marcos' burial in the LNMB. The petition stressed that burying the late former president "alongside our nation's heroes who fought for our freedom is an affront to the thousands of lives tortured and murdered during his reign." "A hero does not take away freedom, he campaigns for it and fights for its survival for the sake of others," De Leon's decision added. 2. People are protesting President Ferdinand Marcos' burial in the LNMB. Hundreds of people braved heavy rains on Sunday to join an assembly against the burial of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. Lawmakers, student groups, and advocacy groups joined the non-partisan citizens' assembly at the Lapu-Lapu Area in Rizal Park, Manila. 3. Burying President Ferdinand Marcos in the LNMB is burying human rights. Burying the dictator in the Libingan ng mga Bayani (Heroes' Cemetery) buries human dignity by legitimizing the massive violations of human and civil rights, especially of the right to life, that took place under his regime," the Jesuit groups said in a statement Thursday, August 18. C. Conclusion
It is my conclusion that President Marcos SHOULD be buried in the
LNMB. There is no law that bans him from being buried there and that people should remember what he did to improve the country. Bibliography: A, R. (2016, August 16).
