ABSTRACT

Structural Engineers are facing the challenge of striving for the most efficient and economical
design with accuracy in solution while ensuring that the final design life-time. In this project the
structural components of ten storied residential building of an arbitrary plan for the Dhaka zone has
been designed. This building analyzes and designed under the lateral loading effect of wind and
earthquake using ETABS. ETABS is a structural analysis & designed based software that can be
used for the simplest or more complex projects.

This ten storied residential building complete of structural analysis and designed have been
performed considering gravity loads in addition to lateral loads. Different load combinations are
considered in the analysis. Gravity loads are considered for slab design. Gravity and lateral loads are
also considered for beam, column, and pile foundation design. The foundation has been designed
manually which is suggested by the actual soil test report.
