Tips for a Good Capstone Presentation

There is no requirement that you have a PowerPoint or Prezi as part of your presentation. But
many students do as it helps to present your ideas in an organized manner.
Typically the presentation includes more than just walking us through your site. A good
thorough presentation starts from the proposal, talking about the idea for the project, the target
audience, the need for the project, and your overall plan for accomplishing the project. Talk
about design decisions, technology used, and problems that came up during the course of the
project and how you overcame them. Talk about what you learned from doing this project and
what you plan to do in the future with the skill you learned.
Then show the actual capstone project. Again explain how the project was designed, built, and
slanted towards your specific audience, their problem and your solution. Talk about the struggles
and joys of the project. Finally talk personally about the program and what you learned and how
you intend to move ahead in the future.
Thank everyone and ask if there are any questions. Then answer them, say thanks again and
goodnight.
