Dear Mr/Ms
1.

Thank you for your interest in PGPEX-VLM program. We are happy to inform you
that on the basis of your application, you have been short-listed for further admission
process of the program. Your Registration Number is.(as in the list). You will now
have to appear for an aptitude test followed by a personal interview.

2.

The aptitude test and interview would be held at Indian Institute of Technology
Madras, Chennai 600 036 on Sunday, the 18th December 2011 at 9:00 A.M.

3.

You are requested to report in room No. 101, Department of Management Studies,
IIT Madras at 8.00 A.M. on 18th December 2011.

4.

You are requested to bring and submit following documents along with Call Letter
before aptitude test:a) Original certificates and mark sheets for School leaving (10th standard),
Higher Secondary (12th standard) and Engineering degree.
b) Last pay/salary drawn certificate from competent authority
c) Proof of work experience
d) Appointment letter

5.

Aptitude Test will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M on December 18, 2011.
Candidates will not be allowed to enter the Test Hall after 9:10 a.m. The Aptitude
Test will have 120 multiple choice objective questions in 3 sections of 40 questions
each. The three sections will cover quantitative skills, verbal abilities and
engineering aptitude. Engineering aptitude test will include basic engineering
knowledge. Candidates must demonstrate minimum proficiency in each section.
Each correct/appropriate answer will carry 3 marks whereas each wrong answer
will carry -1 mark. Candidates are expected to answer as many questions as possible.

The candidates short listed after Aptitude Test will be required to appear for Personal
Interview commencing at 2.00 p.m. on the same day. Personal Interview may
continue till 8.00 p.m.

7.

Limited accommodation is available at IIT Madras Hostel.

If you need
accommodation, please mail to ccwoffice@iitm.ac.in with a copy to vlm@iitm.ac.in
and inform your requirement. They will arrange accommodation on payment basis.

8. 8. Please make your travel plans such that you reach IIT Madras by 18th December by
8:00 A.M. and depart by late night of December 18, 2011 or the next day morning.
9. 9. Please note the following instructions related to Aptitude Test:
a) Please carry the Call letter with you to the Hostel and show it at the entrance.
You will not be permitted to take the Test if you do not bring the Call letter.
b) Along with the Call letter, you are allowed to carry only a ball point pen, HB
pencils, eraser, sharpener and a wrist watch to the Test Hall.
c) Do not carry any paper (other than the Call letter), cell phones, pagers, rulers,
slide rules, drawing instruments, calculators, watches with built-in
calculators/memory, stop watches or any other device to the Test Hall.
d) Please enter the Test Hall and occupy your seat according to your Registration
Number.
e) Ensure that you have filled in all the relevant columns on Side-1 of the Answer
Sheet.
f) The whole Test is a continuous one. You will not be allowed to leave the
Room/Hall while the Test is on.
g) Do not leave your seat until your Answer Sheet and Test Booklet is collected by
the Invigilator.
h) Observe strict silence and follow the instructions of the Test Invigilator in your
room. Failure to observe the instructions or breach of any of the instructions
will lead to cancellation of your candidature. The decision of the Test
Invigilator relating to the Test will be final.
