1 Start the Web Dynpro planning applications

The new planning applications for planning of projects and planning of cost centers are included in
new PFCG roles which are optimized for the usage in the NWBC (NetWeaver Business Client), but
there is also the possibility to include the new planning transactions into your SAP Easy Access Menu.

1.1 Precondition Set Controlling Area

All the planning applications depend on the right setting of the controlling area for your user. You can
use transaction code OKKS to set the controlling area.

Make sure to press the SAVE button on this popup. This will enter the user parameter CAC to your
user profile.

1.2 Start the new applications from NWBC (NetWeaver Business Client)
The new planning applications can be started from the Easy Access Menu in your SAPGUI or from
NWBC (NetWeaver Business Client.)
In the following chapter, starting from NWBC is described. (If you prefer to start from SAPGUI Easy
Access Menu, please review chapter 2.1 Start Web Dynpro planning applications from SAPGUI.)
For your first test, you might use the HTML version of the NWBC which is out-of-the box available
from your SAPGUI. Just call transaction code NWBC to start the browser based version of the NWBC.

A browser window is started. Enter role name SAP_CO_INTERNAL_CONTROLLER. This role provides
access to all new planning applications.

The role is displayed in the browser version of NWBC. If you open the Project Planning page, you will
get access to all planning applications for project planning.

The Cost Center Planning page is the starting page for the new cost center planning applications.

If you start a planning application from the work center page, a new browser window opens, that
shows the selection screen of the planning application.

1.3 Fill the selection screen

On the selection screen there is a dependency between Cost Center hierarchy and Cost Center
Groups (or Cost Centers). And also a dependency between Cost Element Hierarchy and Cost
Element Groups (or Cost Elements).
First you need to choose the right Cost Center hierarchy. The Cost Center hierarchy is the same as
the top node of your Cost Center Group that you want to use in the planning.

The naming convention of the hierarchy entry on the selection screen is a concatenation of the
company code and the cost center hierarchy. If you choose the hierarchy from the F4-help, the
naming convention will be filled automatically.

Once you have entered the Cost Center hierarchy, you can use the F4-help for the Cost Center Group
to find the group for planning. The Cost Center Group is a node in the cost center hierarchy.

The same field is also used for Cost Centers. To enter a single cost center you can either choose it
from the F4-help or you follow the naming convention to concatenate the controlling area with a /

and the number of the cost center.

To add further cost centers to the selection, you can insert new rows with cost center to the
selection screen and then enter the cost center numbers.

1.4 Basic Features and Functions

1.4.1 Enter data and Save
When you have filled the entries on the selection screen and pressed the Execute button, the data
entry table appears.

Fill in the plan data in the input enabled cells. Which cells are ready for input is depending on the
query definition and the customizing settings in ERP.

Use the Save Button to save the data directly into the ERP tables. The button Discard Changes will
reset the entries to the last saved status.

1.4.2 Collapse selection area

You can collapse the selection area to see more of the data entry table on your screen.

1.4.3 Aggregation in hierarchy

The planning values in a hierarchy will be aggregated to the higher levels of the hierarchy. This is the
standard setting in the Overall Planning application for projects.

1.4.4 Aggregation and disaggregation in hierarchy

Depending on the settings of the planning query, it is also possible to achieve a behavior of the query
that enables disaggregation and aggregation in the same hierarchy.

If the value in the top level is doubled from 8.000 to 16.000, all values in the lower levels are changed
accordingly with the same factor.

Now, you change in one line the value from 2.000 to 3.000. The changed values is aggregated to the
higher levels of the hierarchy.

If you change the value of a middle level of the hierarchy, the higher levels are aggregated and the
lower levels are disaggregated with analog distribution.

1.4.5 Usage of planning functions

SAP delivers some planning functions in the planning applications e.g. copy or revaluate functionality.

These SAP delivered planning functions are examples how you can use planning functions in your
own planning application to manipulate the data.
If you want to create your own planning functions for you own planning layouts you can find detailed
information in the help documentation of transaction RSPLAN.

2 Several ways to start the Web Dynpro Planning Applications

2.1 Start Web Dynpro planning applications from SAPGUI
If you do not want to use the NWBC, you might also start the Web Dynpro Applications directly from
the Easy Access Menu.
First check the settings in the SAP delivered PFCG role SAP_CO_INTERNAL_CONTROLLER to see the
right entries for Web Dynpro Application and Web Dynpro Configuration.
Then use these entries to create your own PFCG entries or Favorites.
