62 High Caliber, Blue Sun Mod & Mercapocalypse Walkthrough, by ssander75

With the recent release of Mercapocalypse mod, which is an addition to the Blue Sun Mod offered on Steam, I wanted to put together a complete walkthrough for those
people who are having difficulty.

Chapter 20 Doctor & Uribe

Back to the mission. We have couple to do in Cali-Cantinos.

No further bandit attacks, we make it to the city without incident. I choose the default entry point.

The first person available is a 'Trade Advisor'? Sounds interesting, let's say hello.

It's Rico from earlier Brigade E6 game. That game had 3 campaigns similar to this one (though the Blue Sun Mod added the third). Rico was the crime boss who gave you
missions for the criminal faction. Anyway, let's see what he's doing here.

Ah, a legitimate businessman, so he's up to his old tricks. Well maybe he's got something for sale?

Let's see what he has.

Nothing that special, but he has a nice variety. Nothing I want at the moment though. What was our mission again?

Ah right. A doctor so Paquito will stop breathing funny. That rattling sound he makes is making me edgy. To do so, we need to acquire some special meds from the hospital
here. Let's go.

Once in the lobby I see this chick. Anyone with a name is important, that is a rule in regards to electronic RPGs. I'll let Benicia take the lead. People like her.

Ah, I can see where this is going...It looks like another damsel in distress...

Looks like I was right...

Ah Palinero. It is still just as big a cesspool as when I fought in the civil war. That's what you call progress. Anyway, we get right to the point.

Wow. Don't piss off the nurses. Looks like we got some revenge killing coming up. After hearing the story from the source, Benicia looks charged for a fight. I tell her to
grab a knife from the truck as per the nurse's suggestion, and meet me near this drug dealing Borges' office. I loosen my knuckles and get ready for a fight myself.

I tell the rest of the squad to stay in the lobby and look casual. Heh. Naturally they only stand out more.

Well we find his office right next to an entrance, pretty easy for people to slip in and out quickly. He made a good choice. It will serve us nicely. Time to say hello.

As soon as he opens his mouth, I believe the nurse's story.

Bring it. I guess Benicia wasn't the only one charged up. Time to crack some heads.

Benicia channels her inner slasher and tries gutting the doc. I get a right hook ready.

I should have used a left hook. I elbow Benicia causing her to miss. Oops. We are in tight quarters here.

Player Note: Stan's attack was interfering with Benicia's in the game. It seems like a plausible explanation.

I got in a decent shot and then Benicia drove her knife in deep. The doctor is dead.

Benicia is still carrying loot from the last fight. Odd that the doctor had morphine on him. Maybe he likes to be prepared for a quick cash sale? We take his stuff.

The mission log agrees that we are done. Time to talk to the nurse.
Player Note: Some people have trouble with this mission, but I've never had issues as long as I use melee attacks like the nurse suggested. No other hostiles to deal with
this way.

There, I just made someone's day. Now when we get back to Campecino, our friendly Doctor will be very happy.

Now our second mission here from the Boblings. There was some weapon trader or something along those lines they wanted me to escort back to their base? There's a
weapon specialist noted on the map. Let's go there.

And he's hiding out in the ruins of Rico's old digs. That sounds about right.

Ah Uribe, that was his name. And now we have an example of why I increased the maximum allowable mercs in the initial settings. This allows me to take Uribe with me
along with a full 6 person squad.

Uribe's portrait is cut off since he's the seventh man. He doesn't have much in terms of equipment, but at least he has a ballistic vest and a sidearm. I'll give him some
spare weapons. It's a good thing we haven't sold our loot yet.

I give Uribe Benicia's old 9mm SMG and the nice SKS style semi-auto rifle. With a tactical vest and helmet, spare ammo, a few grenades, Uribe is ready to negotiate.

Time to sell our loot. We find the gun trader across the street from the hospital. How convenient.

I sell everything here. It's not exactly enough to retire on, but it is a little extra spending money.

Speaking of money, I check my bank balance. All told a little over $20k. We're not poor, but we are not rolling in money either. Not with Stogie's wage to pay.

A reminder to stop by Campecino and make our Doctor a happy man.

Well this seems simple. Uribe did say he was expecting trouble though.

Oh yeah, there was that crazy guy we killed in Sagrada. Another job done. Hope it pays well.

The first leg of the trip, to Cuidad-de-Oro.

No encounters. And now the second leg of the trip. But first we need to recruit our Doctor and give him the medicine his brother needs.

And the second leg of the trip is boring. We find the Doctor, Paquito is looking forward to professional medical attention.

The Doctor is very pleased. We will soon have a Doctor at the base.

The completed mission log agrees. Nice.

And now for Uribe's mission. He said he was expecting trouble. So far it has been clear sailing.

I screwed up this screen capture. I split up the squad. In the default entry point I placed: Stan, Stogie, Benicia, and Uribe.
Paquito, Kelly, and Senora get the second entry point. I decided to do this for shits and giggles. I normally have everyone in the default location. I'm curious how it will work
out.

The default entry point. I split up into pairs. Stogie and Stan run forward towards the stack of shipping containers. Benicia and Uribe are going to run around the concrete
half wall along the perimeter on the left.

The other three are in an enclosed area within the shipping container maze. This container has a functional door, so that is the way out.

Stan picks up movement with his amplified headset. Running towards that container wall looks like a good idea.

The Bobling guards are content to pick their ass while this goes on. Fine with me, as long as they stay out of the way and don't turn hostile.

Stan and Stogie ready weapons. Stan uses aim-at-point around the corner of the container.

Benicia and Uribe still have a ways to run.

Stan hears more movement.

Looks like this trio is going to miss all the action. It's going to take some time to run around the container maze even though I know where to go.

Almost there...

Stan hears a bullet whiz past his position. Was that coming from inside the container?

Stan decides to step out with the shotgun ready. Stogie will move beside with his M14.

Stan spots his first victim and takes time to aim.

Two bad guys. Though they don't have weapons ready. I'd love to toss grenades here, but the fragments always hit the Boblings and then they turn hostile. Not a good
plan, as I'll be taking missions from these guys.

If either of those guys run past the containers on the left, Benicia and Uribe are in position to fire. Uribe can shoot a little too.

Ever frugal with ammo, Stan hit two bad guys with one blast of buckshot. Killed one too.

Stogie is now in position to help. This shot is child's play for him.

Uribe spots a bad guy, though I have no idea what he's shooting at. Uribe is just grateful he's an idiot.

Stogie gets that unsettled feeling of being in someone's sights. He reconsiders and moves right towards cover.
Player Note: Night fighting can get frustrating, with bad guys doing amazing impersonations of ninjas. Night vision googgles and optics help and we don't have any yet.

Stogie hears the bullet whip past his last position and breathes a little easier. That's why you trust your instincts.

Looks like a group of 4 at least. We'll have to be careful, they are already in shooting positions.

The other three are running their asses off, but it's going to take some time before they can join the fight.

Uribe got a light hit on his target. Now that he's found his range he should be able to take him down in short order.

Stan and Stogie decide a less exposed position would be a good thing.

Benicia decides her Desert Eagle with tactical flashlight would be useful thing here. Flashlights can be a useful thing.

Uribe got a good hit on the Jingo but an idiot Small Bobling bumped into Uribe. I swear he did that on purpose. I'll have to keep an eye out on this one.

Benicia missed her snapshot, and decides she needs to aim with this thing.

One Jingo decides to make a run for it. Both Benicia and Uribe switch targets.

Stan turns around and moves a little closer to the edge of the container. He's shocked momentarily.

But recovers enough to fire buckshot into the Jingo's head. I love shotguns.

Benicia spots a Jingo making a run for it. Chicken.

Now I feel I can move people forward in numbers.

Stan ends the Jingo lying on the ground.

Stogie moves to the corner of the container, looking for that runner.

And Stogie gets the colon clenching feeling again. And yes, it's as unpleasant as it sounds. A sound to the left.

These Jingos are a mix of crazy and bully. This guy is more crazy. Everyone is facing the wrong way.

And the Jingo pops back inside the container, or something. The fucker. Stogie is getting annoyed.

Uribe hears boots running on grated steel. Looks like the running Jingo took cover in this container.

Pop goes the Jingo. At least this time I have a few options.

The shotgun is a fast option. If I hit.

Now where the hell was the rest of my squad? Kelly will take the ladder, the rest of the squad is just on the other side of these containers. Senora is close by but Paquito is
trailing behind. His lungs are on fire.

Benicia's pistol is ready to rock. Stan's buckshot was on target but did not drop the Jingo.

An annoyed Stogie turns and fires a snapshot killing the jack in the box Jingo.

Stan will flank the hiding Jingo from the other side of the containers. If the others don't get him first.

Benicia and Uribe move ahead to see if any more are lurking around.

Stogie moves ahead, looking for that hiding Jingo.

The Jingo pops out, Uribe decided to trust Benicia with his back.

Stogie gets a snapshot ready.

Uribe has a good target.

Senora has nearly reached the container door to the other side. She might get there just in time to witness the final kill.

Stogie misses. Shit. At least he learned something.

And the Jingo is playing hide and seek again.

Stogie uses aim-at-point. If that Jingo pops out, he'll eat lead.

Stan is nearly on the other side of the container where this guy is hiding. Heh. He's in trouble now.

Stan is at the door...

Looks like the Jingo heard Stan messing with the door, this is his only chance.

Senora finally makes it to the fight. She moves for a better visual around the canister door.

Bingo. Stogie has a clear shot.

So does Benicia. Two people shouldn't miss.

Stogie doesn't miss this time. All Jingos are dead. Let's see what toys they were carrying.

This is one of the best SMGs in the game. Certainly in the vanilla version. The ammo, especially the AP stuff, is good even against heavy armour. We'll be keeping this.

This is an interesting thing. A large heavy round, though magazine size is a limited to 10. Another high powered SMG type of weapon. Don't think I will keep this one
though.

Now this is a sweet little thing. Similar to the P90, another high powered SMG. This one has integrated suppressor though. Fun. It is a little heavier than the P90 though.

Now if you want a machine pistol backup that does a little damage, this may be for you. Though, you could share ammo and maybe even magazines with your backup
pistol. That could be handy.

And when you want a high powered canon for pistol backup. This will do it. Stogie can upgrade his sidearm.

There are a few of these. This one is in good shape. I'm not a fan of this armour, it's a little too heavy for too little protection. Though you could add inserts to it.

I'm giving Uribe the following equipment to keep. Once you talk to the head Bobling, he leaves with whatever equipment he has on him.

Time to speak to Billy-Bob.

It sure does.

Another $7000. We need the money.

Holy! Speaking of money. Something tells me this mission isn't so straight forward. But we will see. We can use that money, that's for sure.

Speaking of money, don't we have another mission to turn in? That we do.

Another $7000! For killing one guy! The pleasure was definitely all mine.

A quick check on my money status. About $35 000 total. After that next mission, we can think about hiring again.

And we finish with the mercenary status screen. I have Senora for a few days yet. I will be letting her go though. Hopefully by that time, I will have the money for another
high end merc like Stogie. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for the next chapter.
