The Second RBSA Photographic Prize will open for submissions in November 2016, with

invited to enter photographs for this public exhibition.

About this exhibition
The Second RBSA Photographic Prize will open for submissions in November, with a 1,000 top prize. Professional and
non-professional photographers nationwide are invited to enter
photographs for this public exhibition at the RBSA Gallery,
Birmingham. All entries will be judged by a distinguished panel
of independent judges who will make their selection based on
the quality and technique of their work.

How to pay
your entry fee
Via PayPal, using your card details or your PayPal account.
Go to the exhibition page at rbsa.org.uk, scroll down and click
the red button.
Over the phone, by card, call us on 0121 236 4353.
By post, cheques only. Cheques must be made payable
to RBSA.
In person by cash, card or cheque, made payable
to RBSA.
If not paid on time, we reserve the right not to accept your
entries. Please allow time for us to receive your entry form and
digital file(s) of the work entered before making a payment.
If you are aged 35 or under, a 50% discount applies.

Both your entry form and

Items to prepare
When completing on a
computer, use Acrobat
Reader (free download) and
Save as the PDF, including
your name in the file name
(Interactive pack available
at rbsa.org.uk). Use block
capitals when completing
by hand.
Entry form. All white areas
must be completed and the
entire form must be returned.
By completing the entry form
you agree to be bound by
the terms and conditions
of this exhibition.
Digital file(s) of the work
entered must be jpg, tiff or
png and must be saved as
Surname.Firstname.Title.
One file per work.

Delivery of work
Applicable to selected
artists only. Artists must
deliver the original work(s)
framed, unwrapped and
labelled, to the Gallery
on Sunday 12 February,
10.30am-1pm. The artist
receipt will be cut out and
returned to you as proof of
delivery. Please retain it for
collection of work.
Artists aged 35 and under
must bring a proof of DOB.
Two labels must be
attached to each work, see
the label form enclosed.
The top of abstract work
must be clearly marked on
the back of the work.
Work must be framed
and suitable for display using
mirror plates. We advise
against using frames made
from MDF or LDF since they
are prone to cracking. Frames
must be of a professional
quality.
Loose works such as
sketches on card, metal,
glass or clip frames cannot
be entered.
Frames must have no
projections at the back
(such as rings).
Delivery is not allowed
outside the date listed.
If your work is over 180cm
in any dimension, please
contact the Gallery to inform
the Hon. Curator.
A third party, a courier or a
postal delivery service may
deliver on your behalf, so
long as the items arrive by
the stated delivery dates.
We recommend Picture

commercial courier company
may be used.
7.
Collection of
unsold work
To safeguard your work
please present the artist
receipt given to you as
proof of delivery.

Work must be collected on
the dates listed. A penalty fee
of 10 per work per week or
part week will be charged
to any work delivered or
collected outside the
stated dates.
Work left at the RBSA
Gallery 3 months beyond the
stated dates will be deemed
to have been abandoned and
will be disposed of without
notification to the artist.

Images of work
Visitors are allowed to take
photographs in the Gallery
without restriction. Copyright
remains with the artist.
However, by entering this
exhibition you agree that
photos of your work can be
used for the promotion of
the RBSA Gallery and its
exhibitions in perpetuity.
This also includes the
images submitted with
your application form.
9.
Insurance
Reasonable care will be
taken of all works but it is
submitted at your own risk.
We strongly advise all artists
to insure their work against
damage and theft. The RBSA
cannot insure work on the
premises or in transit and will
not be responsible for any
loss or damage.
10.
Sale of work
All work entered, with the
exception of commissioned
items, may be for sale.
Provided payment has been
received in full from the
purchaser, artists will be paid
approximately 30 days after
the last day of the exhibition.
The price stated on the
entry form must be the retail
price and include the frame.
The retail price stated must
be at least 75 framed, 50
unframed.
The retail price includes a
commission of 35% plus
VAT on that commission.
To calculate your retail price
from the amount you want:
(amount you want x 100) 58
= Retail price
Work and/or commission
sold as a result of being
exhibited at the RBSA Gallery
will not be exempt from
this commission.
Limited edition prints
(unframed) may be sold if
details are completed on the
entry form. Artists will be
informed of any order placed
and will be responsible for
delivering these to the Gallery,
covering cost of postage if
sending by post. Orders must
be fulfilled within 30 days
of notification.
Where possible sold items
will remain on display until the
end of the exhibition. At the
Gallerys discretion, when
requested by the purchaser,
sold items may be removed
on the day of purchase.
Diptych and triptych works
must be fixed or framed
together to be sold as one.
Sold work that has a
damaged frame must be
replaced promptly by the
artist. The RBSA reserves the
right to deduct reframing
costs from an artists
commission if required.

noted NFS on your
entry form.
