Introduction, Scope and Objective of Programme

The M.Tech.Programme in Computer Science and Engineering is aimed at preparing


Computer professionals for research, academics, design and development in hardware and
software and co-design technologies. The Programme emphasizes on developing strong
learning skills and imparts knowledge in key subject areas relevant to current scenario in the
field of computer science and engineering. The Programme focuses on practical
implementations of the ideas by means of research oriented projects. Post graduate
students get opportunity to work on leading research topics for their Dissertation. The
department interacts with industry and brings in acclaimed professional to share their
knowledge and experience. This Programme is also available under split semester scheme
with a duration of three years.

PG dissertation work will be carried out in the department and also at Space Application
Centre(SAC), Physical Research Laboratories(PRL), Institute of Plasma Research(IPR),
Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Application and GeoInformatics(BISAG). The areas of

™ Laboratory Facilities

PG students have unlimited access to Computer Laboratory with Internet and the required
software for practical work. Laboratory is equipped with multi and many core machines,
graphics workstation, Sensor network setup, simputer, Electronic system design tools for
Embedded system design, FPGA etc. Excellent Library facility with leading journals in
Computer Science Information Technology is available. Most online resources are accessible
from computer laboratories and hostels.
