Practice Manager for 2 Physicians, When patient load was heavy or a nurse was out I
would also function as a nurse where needed and travel to other offices to sub when
needes as a manager. Was instrumental in the start up on 3 different offices for the
group. Ordering of supplies and equipment along with the maintance of equipment. I was
responsible for the daily operations of the office: banking and deposits daily, end of day
balancing, payroll, supervision of both front and back office staff, supervision of externs,
check in/out of patients, weekly reports for aging accounts, daily collections, referral log,
and payment at time of service collections.responsible for coding and billing of our office
visits, hospital and surgery superbills in order for our claims to go through the clearing
house clean. Supervision of three employees: front desk and nursing. Research any
claims that were returned unpaid, and do any appeals that were needed. Would contact
patients that had outstanding balances to do collections and under certain
circumstances make payment arrangements that would work both for the office and the
patient in order to get the account paid. Our bad debt stayed under 1-2% monthly.
