With regards to your submitted updated ETABS file for the steel superstructure y
ou are required to comply with our below mentioned comments:
1.Application of wind loads was found to be inaccurate since the applied loads w
ere not transferred to rafters and columns. Also the wind pressure co-efficients
used were not as per ASCE-07 code. Submit detailed wind load calculations inclu
ding details of wind pressure co-efficients and zones as specified in ASCE-07. A
pply wind load as UDL on rafters and columns considering the correct wind pressu
re co-efficient and bay spacing.
2.As a preliminary check wind loads were applied in transverse direction with pr
oper co-efficients as UDL on rafters and columns and it was found that 4 columns
fail after running analysis and design command. You are required to revise all
the steel elements after application of accurate wind loads in all directions.
3. In steel design parameters it was found that all columns have K2 value as uni
ty for both major and minor axes. This value calculated by ETABS is incorrect si
nce K values for all sway frames must be more than 1 as per code. You are requir
ed to calculate exact K values as per AISC code for both sway and non-sway frame
s and apply them accordingly.
4.Provide vertical bracing at appropriate locations (wihtout obstructing the ope
nings) as this is an important stability requirement.
