Bridging organization
Bring students to a stationary point in front of you- ensuring their back is to the
sun
Introduce the warm up game
Number the students or give them a position name and ask them to line up on
their side of the court ready for a demonstration.
Warm up
The numbers game
The teacher splits
students into 2 even
teams giving each
side a coloured bib.
They then number/
position the students
off ensuring several
students share the
same number.
The teacher will then
call out a series of
players numbers and
they are to run onto
the court. The players
whose numbers have
been called then play
using normal netball
rules until a goal is
scored.

Netball court lines to mark the

playing square
2-3 Netballs
2 Netball rings
Teacher- blue

Bridging organization
Bring students to sit/ stand at a stationary point in front of you- ensuring their
back is to the sun
Ask students questions based on the skills they just performed. Such as variations
they could include, modified versions, etc.
Introduce the next activity to the students
Allocate students to set up the beginning activity
Activity 1
Criss- cross- lands on
outside foot
Split students into 4s
or 6s with 2 balls.
Both Blue players
start with a ball.

4 cones per group

2 balls per group

The blue players both

throw the ball to the
Red players who in
turn return the ball
After returning the
ball the red players
swap places
Repeat once more
It is important that
crossovers are timed
so that players
receive on the move.

netball
Introduce the passing activity to the students and ask them for some KTPs on
passing
Ask students to get into pairs and one student from each pair to collect a ball.
They will then stand on one a line each ready for a demonstration..
Activity 2
Bump quick passing game

1 Netball per pair (10-20 netballs).

Players can perform this

activity at varying distances
using a variety of passing
techniques.
Pairs stand opposite each
other and are given a
number. The first pair is 5,
the following are 10, and so
on, going up in
denominations of 5.
The players have to make

passes. Once they have
done so they shout bump
and swap places with their

minutes, then stop the
players to see if they have
moved up or down.
Bridging organization
Bring students to a central point and ask them to place all equipment at the front
out of reach
Recap the importance of each passing technique in netball
Allocate to students to mark the cool down playing space
Cool down
Netball Tag

Netballs- depending on the

number of taggers (3 balls at the
most).

Designate a square
for students to play
in. The size of the
area can change
depending on
preference.
Smaller = trickier for
students to move
away for tagger.
Larger= taggers have
to work harder to get
students out

1 bib per tagger

Blue- taggers

Cones to mark the designated

playing area

Red- trying to escape the

taggers

Allocate 1 or 2
taggers to wear a bib.
The taggers have to
follow normal netball
rules such as they
cant run with the ball,
they have to
demonstrate correct
passes and the only
way they can get
people out is by
tapping them gently
with the ball.
The remainder of the
students have to try
their hardest to stay
out of the taggers
way.
