Medical professionals involved in the science of Health and Wellness have an important
leadership expectation to uphold, in addition to providing patient care. The health professional is
to be a reflection of such acquired knowledge and its applied science. Because of this, it is
critical that this individual also partakes in the physical discipline of the study that he or she is
also prescribing to others.
My interest in health and wellness goes beyond intellectual curiosity and coincides with
my daily living activities. Upon completion of my health studies I will continue active
maintenance with such disciplines to reinforce acquired knowledge and experience. This visual
representation of health professionalism in theory will help ease any doubts a prospective client
may have in choosing to purchase health advice.
In creating my own awareness I understand the need to focus and concentrate on nutrition
in addition with the mind/spiritual aspect. Diet being an important part in the matrix of health
and wellness, I have not been one that has fully engaged in healthy eating. Aside from diet, I also
observed my faith and spiritual belief has been less than regular. The immediate goal is to further
spiritual peace, to be in harmony with the mind and body.
Since I have chosen this course of study, I have been assessing my current progress.
Regarding the area of physical health I score myself 8 out of 10. There will always be
opportunity for advancement, yet chasing perfection is as well unhealthy in itself. So I am at a
stage where I am content and remain above average for many my age group.
In the area of psychological health I score myself an 8. I have contemplated whether
achieving complete happiness is actually possible or a conundrum, will it ever happen. Our
existence has multiple emotional aspects and happiness cannot exist without sadness. In fact,

having moments of non-happiness helps an individual realize when happiness has been achieved.
I am emotionally content, but yet still searching for improvement.
Spiritual health is an area I currently score the lowest in. I rank my score at a 6 . I get
too confused with the different interpretations of religion and our purpose for existence. Because
of this it is difficult to identify what particular faith I should devote myself to. As science
continues its pursuit and identifies the positive effects of belief, it shows an alternative to
possibilities as well. I am on the cusp of a basic belief that doesnt necessarily follow any
particular structured religion, but more of an adaptive faith.
Therefore, goals for my continued development include all of the three aspects of
wellness. In the physical aspect, I will work on flexibility and mobility, to eventually move with
less restriction and perhaps be able to do a high kick. Exercising at the gym helps with body
improvement. There are two exercises I have begun to incorporate. The first is on a machine that
is similar to an elliptical, but does sideways motion instead of forward motion. This is an
enjoyable machine because it encompasses the gluteal muscles to develop a more rounded
appearance. Another exercise is the push press which incorporates multiple muscle groups for a
strong physique.
In the emotional aspect, I identified the need to meditate more often during the day. This
technique will alleviate stressors and encourage waking up refreshed and confident. Continuing
my educational goals is another importance in emotional growth. Striving for the best possible
GPA that can be achieved and remaining on the Presidential list will signify accomplishment.
For spirituality there are a few acts to consider. One is to conduct random acts of
kindness, to generate a greater sense of good internally. Another is to devote time to read the

bible and understand its lessons. Faith and prayer will strengthen unconscious collective
energies.
In conclusion, the different disciplines and aspects of Health and Wellness can be
monitored for progress. The mobility and strength of body will be apparent through ease of
motion and improve physique. The completion of class courses with high percentages will be
reflected in the GPA and potential awards indicating a strong mind. Inner peace and tranquility
will identify growth in faith and a solid belief structure.
