Gour Vishwavidyalaya (A Central University), Sagar (MP), India E-mail: ajayahi996@gmail.com Abstract In India major health problem prevalent in children and adolescent like undernutrition, malnutrition and underweight in tribal community. Community health and nutrition is a sensitive indicator of nutritional status and especially children. The various socio-economic and inadequate food factors that have important roles to play in the prevalence of undernutrition among children. Generally anthropometric indicators are used to assess nutritional status in children. These are underweight (low weight-for-age), stunting (low height-for-age), and wasting (low weight-for-height). Physical growth is generally used to assess adequate health, nutrition and development of an individual child, as well as to estimate overall health and nutritional status of a population. Severely malnourished these rates are higher in communities socially and economically underprivileged. Keeping this in view present cross-sectional study assesses the prevalence of undernutrition status among bharia tribe of Patalkot Chhinwara Distract of Madhya Pradesh. A total of 183 boys of age cohort of 518 years we included. Height-for-age, weight-for-age and body mass index for age will used to evaluate their nutritional status. Status of nutritional status has been assessing through body mass index, height and weight measurements. Its findings will be discussed.
