“The Lurker” was a slasher film starring “Halloween” star Scout 


Taylor-Compton. I choreographed the violence and was the go-to safety 
person on set for all of the murders and fights. Also included sword fight 
and car sex scene.

This process was mostly focused on teaching the students the basics of 
combat, while also choreographing short fights for two different 
classes’ adaptations of “Taming of the Shrew”.

I created a 4 v. 4 fight to be shot from the perspective of a character who 


had already been knocked to the ground, so a slightly askew and 
low-angle camera. It was a bloody, contemporary brawl.

I collaborated with Libby Beyreis on the design of “The Invisible Scarlet 


O’Neil”, ran combat rehearsals when she was out of town for a few 
weeks, and will fight captain while playing Scarlet for the run.

I designed the sexually violent climax of “Oleanna” for this company in 
a small, intimate space. One favorite move was a head slam into the door 
that the actors executed wonderfully.

I teach elementary and middle school aged young women about fight 
choreography and teach them hand-to-hand moves, which we then 
turned into fights for part of their final workshops.

I designed violence for a female-powered, hand-to-hand heavy play 


called “The Fairytale Lives of Russian Girls”. One of the fights was a 
woman versus a basket of enchanted potatoes, which was a hilarious 
and thrilling challenge.

I designed the violence for the world premiere production of “Cosmic 


Events Are Upon Us.” This included incidental violence throughout,

Beatrice and Claudio, which gave added agency to Beatrice, and I also

I violence designed a student-directed production of Frankenstein, 


featuring a fight between Dr. Frankenstein and The Monster, which was 
largely hand-to-hand with a lifting chokehold, but also included 
sinister medical instruments.

I choreographed the hand-to-hand combat for a production of “She 


Kills Monsters” for high schoolers and assisted in developing the skills 
 

of the high schoolers in long sword and axe combat. 

Port Washington Pirate Festival, ​Wisconsin —

Together, my crew and I choreographed individual fights for different 


pairs for several weeks. Throughout the days at the festival, we 
performed the fights in areas of the fairground as the rest of the crew 
secured the space for onlookers.

For another production of Much Ado About Nothing, I designed the fight 
between Leonata and Claudio and a piece of violence for Beatrice and 
Benedick. It was in an intimate space, which made us get creative with 
angles. I also ran fight calls, as I was playing Hero in the cast.

I worked on a TYA production called “Sparkleshark,” which involved 


some realistic and some abstracted violence. Working together with the 
sound designer, we transitioned one fight from full speed to moments 
of slow motion. One of the weapons used was an umbrella.

I choreographed violence for “Oliver!” and also taught a stage combat 


unit as part of a camp that I directed. On “Oliver!” I got a lot of 
experience choreographing for children and teaching it to them in a very 
clear way. I then developed this as the instructor for the camp.

designers to be the official fight captain and run fight rehearsals for the 
show. It involved a variety of combat, including many malays.

This program not only taught me about theatre and storytelling from 
various points of view, but also movement, both in a broad sense using 
techniques such as Laban, Contact Improv, and Feldenkrais, but also 
specifically training in SAFD style combat in Stage Combat and 
Advanced Stage Combat with Nick Sandys. 

R&D Fight Choreography, ​Chicago — ​Fight Apprentice

I assisted on countless professional shows in the Chicago area under 


Rick Gilbert, Victor Bayona, and David Bareford, including productions 
with Paramount Theater, Oak Park Shakespeare Festival, Lifeline 
Theatre Company, and Strawdog Theatre Company.

3 YEARS 

In this more martial sparring environment, my main tracks of study are 


Italian Rapier and Italian Abrazare (Wrestling). I also dabble in 
Broadsword. It is most beneficial for learning strategy.
