Foundation. The show will air on ESPN on Friday, Feb. 17 at 9 p.m.
ET as part of the NBA All-Star weekend, followed by the PBA Super
Clash presented by Main Event in Katy, Texas, live on ESPN on Super
Bowl Sunday, Feb. 5, at 2 p.m. ET.
PBA Tour competition resumes with a Super February lineup of
back-to-back-to-back major championships, all of which will air live
on ESPN. The series includes the Barbasol PBA Players
Championship from Wayne Webbs Columbus Bowl, Feb. 7-12; the
FireLake PBA Tournament of Champions from FireLake Bowling
Center and FireLake Arena, Feb. 14-19, and the United States Bowling
Congress Masters from The Orleans Bowling Center, Feb. 21-26. All
three finals air on Sundays at 1 p.m. ET, and preliminary rounds of all
three will be live streamed on Xtra Frame.
PBA 14-tournament PBA50 Tour season for 2017
CHICAGO - The Professional Bowlers
Association has a 14-tournament PBA50 Tour
season for 2017 that will include three majors
and three PBA60 tournaments exclusively for
players 60 years of age and older.
The 2017 season will kick off with a PBA50 and
PBA60 doubleheader at Lane Glo Bowl in New
Port Richey, Fla., April 15-20. Lane Glo will host
the PBA60 Killer B Open April 15-17 to be fol-
lowed immediately by the PBA50 Pasco County
Florida Open April 17-20.
After the Pasco County events, the PBA50 Tour
will once again visit The Villages, Fla., for the
PBA50 Sun Bowl In The Villages presented by
Radical at Spanish Springs Lanes. The tour then
heads north for the PBA50 Miller High Life
Classic presented by Columbia 300 at George
Pappas Victory Lanes in Mooresville, N.C., and
PBA50 Johnny Petraglia BVL Open presented by
Brunswick at Farmingdale Lanes in Farmingdale,
N.Y.
The PBA50 Tour Players Championship makes
its debut as the seasons first major at long-time
PBA host Woodland Bowl in Indianapolis May 13-
16.
The senior players then head west for the PBA50
Northern California Classic presented by MOTIV

Las Vegas will host the USBC Super Senior

After a five-week break Olympia Lanes in
Hammond, Ind., will host the PBA50 South Shore
Open presented by DV8 followed by the PBA50
Dave Smalls Championship Lanes Classic pre-
sented by Roto Grip in Anderson, Ind., before
wrapping up the 2017 season in Fort Wayne Aug.
5-8 with the PBA50 Pro Bowl West Championship
presented by Ebonite and the PBA60 Dick Weber
Championship presented by Hammer Aug. 10-12.

Montville and Howell Take Team Challenge Titles

ELMWOOD PARK, NJ Concerned with the heavy than expected snowfall, tournament
director Mike LoPresti cancelled the afternoon Baker Format playoff rounds. Thus, the
champions would be determined solely on the three-game qualifying round scores posted
by the twenty-three boys squads and the twelve girls teams.
A dose of reality hit the talented young bowlers, challenged by the sport shot used for the
tournament. Scoring was well below average and a tip of the proverbial hat to those able to
adjust to the conditions. Powerful Montvilles five-player squad is still unbeaten in NJAC
Southern Division play, averaging 991; their wakeup call was an opening game 811 before
the Mustangs balanced offense came through with 994, the days best game and closed
with 924 to hold off Howell for the title. In the girls division, Howells Rebels are at it
again. After winning this tournament seven consecutive years [2007-08 thru 2013-14],
Howell finally surrendered the crown in 2014-15, finished second behind Westwood and
last year third behind champion AHA and second-place Westwood. Like virtually everyone
else, the Rebels didnt exactly tear the pins apart this year, but finished on top, sixty-four
pins better than Wayne Valley.

BBIA DONATES $10,000 TO IBMA
CHUCK PEZZANO SCHOLARSHIP
Just before his birthday, the Chuck Pezzano Scholarship received
$10,000 donation from the Billiard and Bowling Institute of America
(BBIA). Chuck Pezzano was born Jan. 14, 1929 and died Jan. 23, 2015,
he lived for bowling. It was Devine intervention that this would happen
in January.
Two organizations headquartered at the International Bowling
Campus came together for the greater good, when the Billiard and
Bowling Institute of America (BBIA) donated $10,000 to the
International Bowling Media Association to help secure IBMA's
ongoing Chuck Pezzano Scholarship for young bowlers who study
journalism in college.
"We are proud to be able to make this contribution to such a worthy
and important cause," said BBIA President, Corey Dykstra. "The more
people we have discussing bowling through the variety of mediums
available today can only benefit the sport by featuring competitive
bowling." The contribution by BBIA guarantees that the scholarship
will be awarded each of the next four years.
"BBIA is an organization filled with industry leaders and successful
entrepreneurs who understand the importance and value of bowling
being covered in the media - both within and outside of the industry,"
said IBMA President, Keith Hamilton. "IBMA is greatly appreciative of
BBIA's support."
The scholarship, which is named after Hall of Fame journalist Chuck
Pezzano, will be presented at the IBMA Awards Presentation during the
Industry Awards Luncheon at International Bowl Expo next June at
Opryland in Nashville, Tenn.
