Edinburgh College Latin American

General English Scholarship 2017

Edinburgh College is delighted to announce the Latin American General English Scholarship award for new
international students for our full time General English language course.

Course: General English

Start Date: August 2017 General English courses are designed to:

Duration: 1 semester or 1 year Improve your writing, reading, speaking and


listening language skills;
Class hours: 17 hours per week Develop your grammatical knowledge and extend
your vocabulary;
Scholarship covers: Full tuition fee waiver Improve fluency and accuracy;

Who can apply?

All applicants must be classed as international students for fee purposes


Applicants must be passport holders and residents of the following countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia,
Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras,
Martinique, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Saint Barthelemy, Saint Martin, Uruguay,
Venezuela.
Tuition fees will be waived but students must evidence sufficient maintenance funds for the full duration of the course.
No hardship funds will be made available.
Students must meet all course entry requirements.
Sponsored students and students in receipt of another scholarship/award are not eligible.
Current Edinburgh College students are not eligible to apply.

How are the Scholarships awarded?

The Latin American General English Scholarship will be awarded based on academic merit, what you expect to gain from the
course and what you intend to do after completing the course.

Any scholarship offer is subject to the applicant successfully obtaining a visa to study in the UK. Edinburgh Colleges International
Team will provide advice and support about the visa application process but responsibility for making the visa application (and
paying visa fee) is with the applicant.

27 May: Scholarships application deadline


30 May 3 June: Shortlisting
6-7 June: Skype interviews for shortlisted applicants
8 June: Scholarships awarded
13 August: Students arrive and enrol.
