GUIDELINES | MECHANICS FOR THE
EXTEMPORANEOUS SPEAKING CONTEST FOR TEACHER
December 6, 2016 | Tuesday | 10:00 AM | Conference Room

1) The contest is open to teachers of Manuel A. Roxas High School, excluding the teachers
from the English Department.
2) Each Department will send one representative to the contest.
3) During the contest proper, each contestant shall be given three minutes to prepare his/her
speech in connection with the given topic. The speech may contain an introduction, body
and conclusion.
4) The contestant then delivers his/her prepared speech in three minutes.
5) The contestants shall be evaluated using the following criteria.

Content 25%
Organization of Ideas 25%
Delivery (posture, gesture, voice projection) 30%
Rapport with the Audience 10%

6) The decision of the panel of judges is final and irrevocable.
