COURSE OUTLINES

Title: Steam valves

Instructor: Eng. Ehab Aboward

Overview This course is designed to provide the participants with theoretical

knowledge and practical skills to select the proper valve for certain
application as well as to do the troubleshooting and maintenance for
plant valves with focus on the steam and boiler service.

Objective Upon completion of this course, participants will have gained the
following

Describe the classification and working principles for each

type of valves.
Characterize the different material of each component, its
properties and compatibility considerations.
Identify different valve actuators types in use and range of
application for each them.
Know the different failure modes for the valves and the
remedial action.
Learn how to troubleshoot the valve problems and implement
the proper preventive and corrective measures.

Methodology A mix of classroom lectures, power point presentation, video

animation as well as group discussions and case studies.

Who Should This course is intended for Maintenance, Production Engineers and
attend supervisors.

It will be of major benefit for those who are new to the field, but it
will also serve as a refresher workshop for those who have many
years of experience.
