The Glasgow Middle School had a change war and Montana Warriors on the Water for their charity. The
each grade level was allowed to choose a charity to students wanted a local connection to the charity they
donate their money to. The 8th graders at GMS chose chose, and what a splendid choice they made!

Montana Warriors on the Water program continues to grow

Montana Warriors on the
Water (MWOTW) is a 501c3
founded in Miles City. They
focus on returning United States
Veterans to the outdoors and,
more importantly, reestablishing a
camaraderie and sense of pride.
The great part for our
community is it provides many
people and businesses an avenue
to express their appreciation to
our service members, and that
includes our Glasgow 8th graders
who generously donated to this
worthy cause.
Although MWOTW has a
multitude of events each year, the
main event is a week long fishing
excursion to Fort Peck Reservoir.
This years event will start at Hell
Creek Recreation Area on July 9th
and end July 16th at Fort Peck.
Warriors will be fishing in the
Fort Peck Area July 14 and 15th.
Other events include long
range marksmanship and a free
concert to the public as, on July
15th, the Southern Drawl Band
will be performing at the Fort Peck
Marina. This event will be open to
the public and has been funded
by generous donations from our
community.
Keep your ears open on Mix 93
as you will soon be hearing some
of the Southern Drawls music.

Its time for landowners to enroll in the state-
sponsored Open Fields for Game Bird Hunters.
The voluntary program, offered through Montana

Program, is available to private landowners who have a Served 5:01pm - 9:00pm
minimum of two years left on their federal Conservation 2 Plates $45 Single Plate $25
Reserve Program contract or are enrolling new lands

Participating landowners receive $5 per-acre each
year the land is enrolled in CRP. Landowners may Show your Elks
enroll up to 320 acres of CRP for a maximum payment member ID for a
of $24,000. Landowners may submit more than one $5 DISCOUNT!!
application if the CRP is located on a separate, unique
parcel of land.
Producers who enroll cropland into new CRP
contracts will also be eligible to receive a bonus payment
of up to $1,600 to help cover seed costs for wildlife
friendly seed mixes.
The following counties will receive priority for
Open Fields enrollment: Cascade, Chouteau, Daniels,
Dawson, Fallon, Fergus, Glacier, McCone, Pondera,
Prairie, Richland, Roosevelt, Sheridan, Teton, Toole,
Valley, and Wibaux, but the program will consider

Open Fields leases may be eligible for managed
or emergency harvesting or routine grazing activities
but may only occur no more than once in five years. Only a Few Left to Choose

Because this program is intended to expand areas open
to the public for game bird hunting, lands that are already
enrolled in FWPs Block Management Program or the
Upland Game Bird Enhancement Program do not qualify. Financing Quality at a Fair Price

Game Bird Hunters will be scored by FWP. Landowners FMCC, OAC

may offer additional acreage to help square up access

boundaries and increase evaluation scores. Applications
must be submitted by March 31, 2017. For more
