ABSTRACT

Most of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus occurs in obese and characterized by a change


in lipid profile, especially for High Density Lipoprotein levels. Nevertheless, Type
2 Diabetes Mellitus can also occur in non-obese but have insulin resistance and
genetic factors. Therefore, researchers wanted to know the difference between
High Density Lipoprotein levels in type 2 diabetic with obese and non-obese in
general hospital Dr. A. Dadi Tjokrodipo Lampung.

The research kind was used a survey analytic with the research design was used a
cross sectional. The study was conducted in general hospital Dr. A. Dadi
Tjokrodipo Lampung during Februari 2014. Subject was selected by purposive
sampling method based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Of Type 2 Diabetes
Melitus hospitalized patients contained patients who met the criteria. Lipid
profile levels are assessed by looking at medical records, while obese and non-
obese was assessed by using BMI (Body Mass Index), which divides weight by
height squared. Then these data are processed by SPSS computer program.
