Have you seen any films? If so, tell us about your favourite one and explain why you like it so much. If
you havent seen any of them, listen to your classmates stories and choose the film that you would like
to see.
This worksheet is dedicated to Captain America: Civil War. Heres the plot:
With many people fearing the actions of superheroes who destroy buildings and risk the lives of civilians in
the process of saving the world, the government decides to create the Superhero Registration Act, a law that
limits heroes actions. This results in a division in The Avengers. Iron Man stands with this Act, claiming that
their actions must be supervised or cities will continue to be destroyed, but Captain America feels that saving
the world is more important and that they cannot rely on the government to rule the Avengers. This grows into
a war between Team Iron Man (Iron Man, Black Panther, Vision, Black Widow, War Machine, and
Spiderman) and Team Captain America (Captain America, Bucky Barnes, Falcon, Sharon Carter, Scarlett
Witch, Hawkeye, and Ant Man) while a new villain appears
Now that youre familiar with the main idea, can you choose your side? Would you
go with Team Iron Man and let the government decide whether you should intervene
in case of danger or would you join Team Captain America and be your own boss
disregarding the risk of harming innocent people?
Black Widow: I know how much Barnes means to you. Stay at home. You'll only make this worse.
Captain America: Our disagreement doesn't have to end in a fight, Tony.
Iron Man: You've just started a war!
Well, Avengers do seem invincible and very cool, but just like the rest of us they were once children. Can you
guess whos who? Match superheroes with their childhood photos.
How have they changed over time? Compare the pictures with your partner.
