About Us
About TED
TED is a global foundation devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading which brings
together some of the worlds leading thinkers and doers to share what they
are most passionate about. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing
together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, and Design
three broad subject areas that are, collectively, shaping our future. Since
then, its scope has become ever broader, showcasing ideas that matter in
any discipline science, arts, global issues, media, architecture, music and
much more. Attendees have called it the ultimate brain spa and a journey into the future. The
diverse audience CEOs, scientists, Philanthropists - is almost as extraordinary as the speakers,
including Bill Clinton, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, etc.

About TEDX
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDX is a program of local,
self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like
experience. There have been over 3000 TEDX events to date. These
local, self-organized events are branded TEDX, where x =
independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides
general guidance for the TEDX program, but individual TEDX events
are selforganized. TEDX events are fully planned and coordinated
independently, on a community-by-community basis with the purpose of inspiring innovation,
thought leadership and visionary insight.

About TEDWomen
A truly global event, TEDWomen 2013 will be held in San Francisco,
and connect to more than 150 self-organized events across the globe
as part of the TEDx program. These gatherings will connect thousands
of people from every continent, creating a global dialogue over the
course of the event, which will continue online as the talks are released
to the world. In San Francisco for the first time, TEDWomen 2013 will
channel the bootstrap spirit of Silicon Valley to celebrate invention in all
its forms. Not just technology and things, but also solutions to poverty;
approaches to peacemaking; expressions of art, and, at times, our own
lives.

About TED MontrealWomen
As part of the TEDWomen conference, local TEDx events around the world will be celebrating
innovative people in our own communities. The TEDxMontrealWomen event challenges each and
everyone of us, as members of society, to question and define our values and beliefs in an effort
to create an awareness and understanding of why we behave as we do, what motivates our
behaviors and what drives our decisions to conduct our lives as we do. With this increased
consciousness, we discover that we are more empowered than we previously thought to make
positive, disruptive and impactful changes in whichever spheres of influence we choose.

TEDXMontrealWomen is an independently
organized local group comprised of passionate
volunteers who are dedicated to ideas worth
spreading.
