with spanish buildings, but respected its radial
construction regarding the temples; catholic
monuments were built on the indigenous. With
abundance of relevant colonial buildings and an
endless number of ancient and beautiful places that

Si vienes del Distrito Federal o del Estado de Mxico,
Tlalpujahua es una buena opcin para un fin de
semana; por la autopista Mxico - Morelia - Guada-
jara, salir en caseta 54 de Contepec y se encuentra a
solo 8 kilmetros.
If you are coming from the Distrito Federal or Estado
de Mxico, Tlalpujahua is a good choice for a
weekend; by the highway Mxico - Morelia - Guada-
lajara, take the exit at the toll rode 54 of Contepec

Aunque es una poblacin pequea, conserva un
conjunto tpico de arquitectura con calles y cuestas
empedradas. Vers que Tlalpujahua tiene todo para

Llegar al corazn del pueblo implica subir una
escalinata y encontrar el Santuario del Carmen, del
siglo XVIII. Su portada barroca es sorprendente.
Sorpresa en particular? la decoracin interior del
Santuario, adems en el altar mayor est la Virgen
del Carmen, una obra pintada sobre adobe.

The coastal village is an ethnographic part of the
lake Cuitzeo watershed. Be surprised to know that is
the second more extensive aquiferous vessel in
Mexico and that its formation dates from millions of
years.
The magnificent bridge road of 4 kilometers lenght,
was built in 1882 and offers a panoramic view of the
lake, natural habitat of many bird species, it is
particularly interesting to observe them in the
evening when there are flying in large flocks.

conserva vestigios de arte y cultura de mucha

Literalmente se forja el cobre a golpe de martillo, lo

maestros artesanos; adems, la versin de todo lo

desde caballitos tequileros hasta tinas increbles,
pasando por copas, vasos, charolas, y muchsimas
cosas que sin duda te asombrarn.
Copper is literally forged by hammering it, what
warrants you to acquire a unique piece in any of the
workshops where the master craftsmen work;
furthermore, the version of everything you can
imagine, you can see it in copper: from small tequila
glasses to incredible tubs, passing through cups,
glasses, trays and many things that certainly will
amaze you.

Santa Clara del Cobre posee un importante
patrimonio edificado de los siglos XVI - XIX. Se
pueden distinguir los estilos neoclsico, eclctico,
plateresco y barroco, enmarcados por una
arquitectura civil tpica.
Sabas que un hermano del padre de la Patria fue
prroco de Santa Clara y que el mismo Don Miguel
fue Sacristn Honorario y por eso eran frecuentes
las visitas del prcer a este poblado y en 1984 la
artesana del cobre martillado recibi el Premio
Nacional de Ciencias, Artes y Tradiciones
Populares?.
Santa Clara es uno de los escenarios de la famosa
novela clsica de la literatura mexicana, "La vida
intil de Pito Prez", escrita por Jos Rubn Romero
y que fue llevada al cine nacional.
Tambin fue en Santa Clara donde se hizo el pebete-
ro del fuego de los Juegos Olmpicos de Mxico 1968,
as como la fachada del Centro de Convenciones de

Santa Clara del Cobre has an important constructed
heritage legacy of the XVI-XIX centuries. Neoclassi-

Un pueblo minero de arquitectura colonial que
tambin incluye en su entorno natural una parte
muy importante del Patrimonio Mundial: Santuarios
de la Mariposa Monarca, ubicados dentro de la
reserva de la bisfera y considerada una de las 13
maravillas del mundo natural moderno de Mxico.
A miner town of colonial architecture that also
includes in its natural environment a very important
part of the World Heritage: Monarch Butterfly
Sanctuaries, located within the biosphere reserve

natural world of Mexico.

Su arquitectura es bastante peculiar: Sabes que
Angangueo tiene su Iglesia de los Pobres? Es la
parroquia de San Simn y est ubicada a un costado
de la plaza principal.
Como bien podrs imaginarte, cuenta con el
Templo de los Ricos, que es el templo de la
Concepcin.
Descubre la Casa de Bill y Joyce Parker en el centro
de Angangueo. Ahora es un museo que muestra una
crnica fotogrfica que retrata la poca de apogeo
minero.
Otro sitio para conocer es el Tnel Turstico San
Simn, de 9.50 metros de profundidad y una
longitud de 100 metros.
Angangueo te cuenta su historia a travs de su
famoso mural, pintado por Jorge Tllez, quien narra
parte de la historia del lugar, pero tambin puedes
ascender al mirador y disfrutar de una vista
panormica y de paso, conocer el Monumento al
Minero.

WELL, AT ONLY 80 KILOMETERS FROM MORELIA, THERE IS TACMBARO.

Tomando la autopista a Ptzcuaro, y luego con
rumbo hacia Santa Clara del Cobre, hay una desvia-
cin hacia este Pueblo Mgico; de igual manera se
puede arribar al mismo por la ruta Morelia - Tiripeto
- Acuitzio - Villa Madero - Tacmbaro. Descubre que
Tacmbaro es un punto de interseccin climtico
por su ubicacin geogrfica, con la particularidad de
registrar diferentes alturas y temperaturas en el
mismo lugar: tiene una altura promedio de mil 600
metros sobre el nivel del mar, con clima templado en
la plaza principal; en el mismo lugar, pero del lado
norte, la altura registra mil 800 metros con clima fro
y la parte sur tiene mil 460 metros y clima clido.
Su nombre es de origen purhpecha, proviene de
Tacamba una especie de palma izote que da flores
comestibles y se resume como Lugar de Palmas.
Algo excepcional? El Santuario de la Virgen de
Ftima, que alberga a las Vrgenes Refugiadas,
consideradas reinas espirituales de Polonia,
Hungra, Lituania y Cuba. Las imgenes de estas
vrgenes fueron tradas a Tacmbaro debido a que
en sus pases de veneracin la religin catlica era
perseguida; adems de contar con una rplica del
Santo Sepulcro. Conocida como Corte de Tierra
Caliente, Balcn de Tierra Caliente Ciudad
Heroica, Tacmbaro tiene un entorno boscoso muy
bello y un clima templado, considerado como uno de
los mejores del mundo. Lugar donde surge la univer-
salmente conocida cancin de Adis, Mariquita
linda, compuesta por el ilustre tacambarense
Marcos A. Jimnez.
Taking the highway to Ptzcuaro and then heading
to Santa Clara del Cobre, there is a deviation to this
magic town; you can arrive by the same route
Morelia - Tiripeto - Acuitzio - Villa Madero - Tacm-
baro. Discover that Tacmbaro is a climatic
intersection point due to its geographical location,
with the particularity of having different tempera-
tures and different heights in the same place: it has

hechos de mosaico esmaltado que le dan un singular
atractivo. No te puedes perder la Biblioteca Pblica,
alojada en un viejo inmueble del siglo XIX que
anteriormente fue Santuario de la Virgen de Guada-
lupe. El interior est decorado con diez murales de
uno de los grandes muralistas de Mxico, Jos
Clemente Orozco.
